We've dried some wildflowers and are ready to affix them in our nature notebooks. How should we do this??

In the past I just glued them in...  like scrapbooking. I don't think that is the best way though.  It seems like there must be another nifty way to do it.
Did you press the flowers?

You can place them between sheets of waxed paper and iron with a very low setting to seal them in. We make bookmarks for gifts like this all the time!

We usually "mat" the waxed paper in acid free colored paper...we don't always glue them in because we use them as bookmarks and gifts. But you could just glue the paper and not put glue on the waxed paper.

We love to add flowers, four leaf clovers, butterfly wings, etc. to our nature notebooks. But there is the perennial ( couldn't avoid the pun) problem of things drying out and losing parts. We discovered laminating contact paper. It's just like contact paper(comes in a big roll,) and you find it in the same place as contact paper, only it's called laminating paper. The reason we like it better than contact paper is because it is a true clear which allows the color of the flower or leaf to be viewed in its true color, whereas the contact paper seems slightly foggy in its transparency. You just cut out enough to cover your specimen and encase it in the laminating paper right on your journal page.
I'm pretty sure you could find it at Walmart, but I think we might have gotten ours at an office supply store.

Thanks for all the suggestions! The flowers are still in the press and today is the day to get them into the notebook. I'll let you know what we did and how it worked!

We use contact paper.  It seems like the least frustrating way to stick the flowers, leaves and whatnots on the paper.
