We are stuck at a "simple" point in our adoption process. After a referral is accepted (Jan 5th), DNA testing is done on the mother and baby and the birth mother meets with a Guatemalan social worker (called Family Court). Once these reports/results are submitted to the US Embassy in Guatemala City the embassy issues a "Preapproval" meaning they've looked over the case and it's ready to go back to the Guatemalan government for final approval. The preapproval is supposed to take less than 30 days. We are now on day 45. Michael is growing older every day. I'm very discouraged right now. Please pray that this preapproval is issued, soon!!, and we can move forward in the process.
