Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just wanted to share my good fortune with you all! I have been trying to focus on restructuring things around the house since I am always a day late and a dollar short it seems. The laundry was always a huge issue at my place, and would often extend into the hallway. Recently, I persuaded my husband to purchase another washer and dryer for our family. He was going to get one of those HUGE new front loading washer/dryer sets for me, but instead I opted for the regular version which together cost much less than the front loading washer alone.

Now, I have both washers and dyers going , AND I got a bin for each child in the family, or doubled up a bin if children share a dresser/room, and labled it with their names. As SOON as the dryer is finished, I place the clothing in the appropriate bin, UNFOLDED, since it always ended up that way in their dressers anyway. SO, the clothes are immediately separated, and all I have to do is go and dump them in the correct drawers. This not only forces me to deal with the laundry immediately, it only takes seconds since I don't even fold anymore, something I thought I HAD to do.

I also try to do one child's clothing or "rooms" clothing per day to keep it even more streamlined. I can't tell you how much this has changed my life for the better. Perhaps for families with fewer children, just the bin system/one person per day system alone would be enough to transform your day without an additional set of appliances. I recently wrote an article, expressing my thanks to my husband, on my admitedly, very infrequently updated blog, Everyday Graces. (I DO have 7 children ya' know. ) SO, you can take a peek at my handsome husband, and read about how cool he is.

Can I just say I dream of the day I need two washers and dryers?      My DH would absolutely have a fit, of course....lol...

But I will say that the bin idea sounds great, esp for those short on time.

Rachel
