Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We just found out today that Joseph(5) will need to have eye surgery. we have an eye condition that runs in my side of the family. Two of my boys have been affected by it. This will be Joseph's first surgery. He is excited...I'm not sure why. I am uneasy.

Christopher(the baby...17 mmonths) is bow-legged. We have to go to a specialist in two weeks. I am nervous about what will come of it. my dh's orthopedic doctor was the first to notice it. He sent us to this other guy becasue he is supposed to be really GOOD. we have to see a nurse practitioner first, for a screening. I wish we could just see the doctor. We'll pay for seeing a doctor even though we see the urse practitioner. Kinda silly of me, I know.

Isn't it funny what excites our dc?    I am praying that Joseph's surgery will be easy and that he heals completely and quickly.
Prayers too for Christopher. No, you're not silly- you just want the best possible care for your son. Loving and concerned, not silly.

God Bless,

Praying for your boys, Jen. My 3 year old will need eye surgery within the next year (strabismus). I understand the uneasy feeling.

My 5yo had eye surgery last summer and may need another this summer. I know how hard it can be on Momma! I'm praying for you and your boys. I guess it's better that Joseph be excited than scared, right? Maybe?

I've also been through having a child have surgery- much, much tougher on the mom than on the child. My ds did very well- by noon the same day you would never know he'd just had surgery! I will be praying for you on all accounts.

My 4yo had eye surgery (for strabismus) last summer. Truly, it was harder on me than on her. She came through wonderfully, and her eyes are perfectly straight with glasses to correct the vision now.

I will pray for both of your sons and their medical needs. And for peace for you!

Thank you. it is strabismus. Our older son has a more are form of strabismus, and he has required four surgeries so far. I guess that is why I am more apprehensive about this ds. His eye is much less deviated than older ds. And we are patching four hours a day to improve his vision.

The doctor for the baby's legs called today. They have to reschedule for June 18th due to a medical emergency for the nurse that will be pre-screening the baby. His ankles roll out so much, it really worries me.

Thank you for the prayers. We really appreciate them!!!
