Has anyone used one of these and have any opinions? Is it worth the price?
Thanks

I love mine. I never had heard of bumbo chairs until Lucy came along (our 10th!). It serves many purposes, including feeding time and oh, so great for schooling. I just put her seat right up on the table (of course with constant supervision)while I help the little ones wiht their school work. Sometimes she sits in while I cook dinner. She loves it!

Thanks Maria. What age did you start using it? I may be able to get a used one at a decent price - I think I will go for it. I cannot believe that I am STILL buying baby equipment 5 kids later!!

I recently purchased one based on this thread. I still haven't had a chance to use it (baby's only 4 wks). I'd snatch up one used--there aren't too many used ones yet...I think they're still pretty new!

Hi Marilyn,
Your baby has to have head and neck control to use the bumbo chair correctly. They are a great "device" to put your baby in without having him resting the back of his head on something. My daughter, Lucy, has plagiocephaly (misshaped skull) and torticollis. Her physical therapist is the one that recommended a bumbo chair. I had never heard of them before.
Good luck!

I loved mine for Emily! Unfortunately, I didn't buy it soon enough, so I didn't get as much use out of it as I could have. But it was great, she loved being upright and it was really nice to take out places where I would usually have just held her or left her in her infant seat.
I got mine at onestepahead.com. And even after seven babies, I am sure there will be something I need to buy for the new one.

my little twins didn't try one out until they were 5 1/2 months old, but we quickly gave it back because one of them managed to squirm his way out of it and landed on the floor (the chair was already on the floor so he was just startled)...
Just so you are aware that they aren't 100% baby proof. If you have a real industrious baby watch out!!
(and my little guy didn't know how to crawl or how to sit up yet... he was just determined to escape I think )

Philip loved his. Our most common use for it was at restaurants, Boy Scout meetings, or other group functions. We would put him in the middle of the table in it. He could see all the action, and recieved a lot of attention. The Boy Scouts gave him the "best centerpiece" award at the Blue and Gold dinner.
