Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I watch a show almost every friday afternoon on BBC canada . Its called Esacpe to the country .
Yes its a totally me show . I just love it .
All the wonderful country homes . I need help to know what exactly is an auger ? I'm not sure if I spelled it right . On the show it is clear it is a stove but I can't figure out what it does and how it cooks and why when they come to a cottage and the kitchen everyone hums and haws over the auger " oh look its an auger " " oh my its an auger ! " so these must be great stoves I'm quessing . are they hard to come by ? do only country folk have them ? Perhaps a brief history in augers is in order
Really this is a great show to any of you who can get BBC its totally worth the subsciption just to watch the show Much Lov , Rox

Oh, you mean Aga! Aga

It's a sort of range cooker that used to be traditional in the country -- powered by logs or coal, but can now be used with gas or even electricity I think. The idea is that it's on all the time and provides heat and hot water as well as a cooking source.

Country folk still have them but posh city houses do too -- a sort of status symbol. Supposedly, good cooks prefer Agas! (I've got a very boring gas hob )
