My baby dd is 6 weeks old and she gets really congested. I have to clean her nose out all the time with the *nose sucker*, as we call it in our family LOL. She has thrown up a few times after kind of choking while nursing. But yesterday and today she has done it more. She threw up last night 2 times and has already thrown up once this morning. Yes it's the projectile vomit kind. She seems really congested in her throat, like she has a lot of mucus back there and that is what is choking her. So my question is, what do I do for her? It breaks my heart to see her do that and I want to help her but I don't know what I can do

. I don't why a 6 week old would have so much mucus in her throat. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

Jess, I only have a moment but I wanted to say that two of my babies have vomited up a lot of mucus this due to a milk/dairy intolerance through my breastmilk. Those two built up a lot of mucus in their noses and throats until I cut it out of my diet altogether. When they vomited, it was a large amount of their feedings, enough to soak whatever they (and I) had on.

True projectile vomiting will oftentimes shoot many feet across a room. I did not know that and thought mine were projectile vomiting when they were not. If you do think your baby is experiencing projectile vomiting, I would have her checked by her pediatrician.

Thanks Rebecca. She is shooting it across the room and it is most of her feeding too. She soaked my bed last night. She gets this look on her face and I know its coming so i try to point her to a good sized area that is easily cleanable. I was thinking of cutting out dairy, I guess I need to try that. Did you just take calcium substitutes? I am going to make her 2 mo app today so I'll ask about that too.
