Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My family and I are heading to Gulf Shores Alabamafor a week at a friends beach house. I'm feeling a little burn out and would like some ideas for fun nature study while there. My kids are High school, middle school, elementary and preschool ages. Help Book Ideas would be great. I guess I need to go an look at my nature bookshelf and find my shell guides and stuff like that.

From another "Mrs. Miller" there's this thread to get you started. Arnosky's Beachcombing book was great for ideas for me.

I thought I had asked last year for some advice, but I can't seem to find the thread. I have only one little guy, so we did basic stuff, some with his older cousins. At the beach I went to a bookstore that had some good books, including a "field guide" for shells, which was a lot of fun to compare what we found to the guide.
