Well, my dh's shingles from 2 weeks ago seems to have triggered chickenpox in the kids. Our 10-yo had it Thursday-Sunday. Our 8-yo seems to have gotten it but only very mildly. Last night Yena (5) developed a fever (though she's had the "pockies" since Friday night). Some of Yena's aren't looking too good -- they look a bit infected to me, so I'm getting worried (she was neutropenic the early stages of her life, though we haven't had her tested in a while). Please pray that the fever goes away and the redness around the spots too.
Thanks.

Oh, you poor dear!
We survived two wicked cases of pox (and a case of the flu) with a newborn in the house many moons ago (in March no less). Horrible, horrible experience that I don't wish on anyone. My heart always goes out to people when I hear "chickenpox". My mother literally lived at our house for the first two weeks just doing laundry, meals, and errands for us. What a blessing.
I'll be praying for a quick and peaceful end to your chickenpox ordeal.
Take care, dear.

Oh, Stef! We've never actually had the chicken pox. Two of mine came out in a rash several weeks back that I though was pox, but turned out not to be... My oldest three were immunised per order of the Air Force before we returned to the US...
I don't think I could stand the itching! Poor baby. I'll be praying for you all, especially Yena.

Thank you all for your prayers! Yena's a bit moody this morning, and that I'm leaving for a dentist appt. isn't helping, but I promised she could watch PBS while I was gone. Of course the 15-yo is a big help. Thank God for our teens! And thank you for you!

Some of my friends swear by aloe vera and Vit E on the pox to keep from scarring.
