Today my FIL spent all day in the ER, and has been sent home. He is out of town, and away from my doting SIL (this is Dana..... Erica, Lissa and Robynn), and his own physician is worried about congestive heart failure. He has a very bad cold, dizzyness, an earache, worsening edema, a few complications of diabetes, is a heart patient and is 83 yrs old.
When I got the message today, I was reminded about how his life cannot go on forever  ...as much as we want him to always be with us.....I even had this vision of getting all the way across the country on my trip and having to come back home due to his bad health. For the moment, his problems are only acute...but, it is still a worry.
And, then, how many FILs have we lost on this board in the last year???
Could you please pray his health is healed? I promise to pray for all of your FILs, both living and not.

Thank you so much for your prayers. It seems they came in quite handy.
I finally talked to my sil(Dana) today. She said my bil flew to Vegas to get him and drive him home, on Fri/Sat. She said he was so sick when they got him home.....that they made a plan that if he was not better yesterday morning, they were going to call a priest to come over  ......she said they were really worried.
Of course, he perked right up the next morning, and is doing much better today. She thinks it is the "being home" part that got him well.....I know otherwise  ......I KNEW who was praying for him!
Hey! At least this is the part of the family that are PRACTICING Catholics, eh? Definitely a blessing, in these days!
Dana says he is still pretty swollen, so keep praying.
I had just been telling Willa the day before the phone call how lucky we were to have had him these last 21 yrs, because he had had a massive heart attack and they did emergency bypass on him in 1985!
One more thing related to this: I told my sil that I felt like this was a warning sign and that we (I talked to my dh about it and he agreed) did not want him traveling all the way up here to see us this spring for his yearly trek, unless he was stable, which he has NOT been. We are in the same state, but 12 hrs away..... But, he is stubborn.......(and is the reason he went to vegas in the first place..........she begged him not to go)....please pray he can understand this and not have his feelings hurt......and also that certain other members of the family understand we just want him to stay healthy. Sometimes people misunderstand intentions, if ykwim?
