My dh just took my 10 year-old daughter Katie to the ER. I fear it might be her appendix.
I am very worried and the only thing that keeps going through my head are those words from Mass "protect us from needless worry and all anxiety".

Please keep praying - my dh called a little while ago - Katie does need her appendix out - they can't be sure if it has burst or not until the surgery - her temp was up to 104 now it's down to 102.
I am feeling really bad - I was going to give my girls each a brown scapular in their Easter basket and now I'm kind of kicking myself for waiting - does that sound a little silly? She is such a sweet girl - I'm sure Our Lady will be watching out for her.
And of course, our priest just happens to be away - he went to Ireland to visit his family for St. Patricks Day - and at the end of Mass this past Sunday before the dismisal he jokingly said to the congregation "don't have any emergencies while I am away." He can get priests to cover for Mass but he said it's hard for them to come out for the other sacraments.
Please pray that the surgery goes ok - that she was brought to the hospital in time before it burst - and that the weather holds off so I can get in to see her! Oh and that I've gotten at least a wink of sleep this night (I'm hoping not too many others will up at 3:00am)

Donna,
Up at 3 a.m. here, but with a newborn. However, I was on this very same board just a few weeks ago asking for very similar prayers for my 9 yo dd. She had her appendix out and did beautifully. I know the prayers from the ladies here are good stuff. I'm adding mine.

Oh, Donna, how scary! I am praying! It must be 4am where you are, but it's 3am here. (Mine aren't newborn, but they still wake at night!) Praying that all is going well and that you are able to rest.
