Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So this is what I read this month:

The Change Before the Change by Dr. Laura Corio
Mrs Tim Christie by D.E. Stenvenson
Gardening with Kids
The Children's Kitchen - Brennan
Let's Grow- Tilgner
Roots. Shoots, Buckets and Boots - Lovejoy
Mrs Tim Carries On
Mrs Tim Finds a Job
Mrs Tim flies Home
Scent of Water - Goudge
Miracle of the Bells - Janney

Aloud to the kids
-The Story of the Transcontinental Railroad (still in progress)
-Trumpet of the Swan (Still on progress)
-Books by Bill Peet
-Some Curious George books

What about you?

You know, I never thought of keeping a list of books that we read.

Last week I finished reading The Runaway Quilt and as a read aloud, we finished The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Currently, I am reading Jane Eyre and as a read aloud we are almost finished with From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

Leonie,

On another forum I used to visit people used to be so good at keeping lists. At the end of each month people will post what they had read that month. It was a great source of reading ideas for me. Thanks to those lists people posted I was introduced to some great books.
I have been keeping a record of what I read for about three years now. It is great to look back and see what I have read.
Maybe we could keep record and share at the end of each month here. I am sure that I wll be greatly enriched by what you guys are reading...

Oh, and I went through a phase many years ago of loving D E Stevenson's novels - especially the Mrs Tim series!

Here are my reads for May:
JPII's Rise, Let us Be on our Way (actually, I may have finished this one in April)
JPII's Memory and Identity (I'm still in the midst of this one)
Snow White and Rose Red (now entitled The Shadow of the Bear) by Regina Doman
Black as Night by Regina Doman
The Scent of Water by Elizabeth Goudge

And one I started last week (but I think it was already June by then)is In This House of Brede by Rumor Godden. I love it!

And for history read alouds with the girls I've read:
Big John's Secret by Eleanore Jewett
some shorter stories and books on the middle ages and King Arthur
Theodoric's Rainbow -- Thanks to Leonie's suggestion!

And we've listened to The Horse and His Boy and The Magician's Nephew from the Chronicles of Narnia

I was just thinking the other day that I should start keeping a log of my own reading. I used to do it when I was a girl, and I enjoyed looking back at the books I had read. Thanks for the prompt to begin this for myself again, Natalia.

I was curious a couple years ago to see how many books I read in a year so I started keeping track on my Palm Pilot, but after aboit 6 mos got out of the habit. Now I keep a list of all the library books I check out (for everyone) with due dates and when I return them, b/c our library's computer system keeps crashing and also sometimes books turned in don't get processed correctly and they think we still have them. This way I can look at exactly when I turned it in and they accept that.

Anyway, the bonus is now I have a list of books, at least the lbirary ones, and I just add the non-lib. ones in the Palm.

In May:
I Have Called You by Name (saints stories)
Witness to Hope (didn't finish before due date, and went on vacation, so have to get it again)
Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World (my Cath. women's book club summer choice - I don't care for it)
Salt of the Earth (Ratzinger)- still reading
Knit Wit- meditations for women who knit too much LOL

kids's books too numerous to count!
