There have been a few posts mentioning authors, books or diets that I haven't heard, or need some recommendations.
What's on your Remedy and medical bookshelf? For pregnancy? For female problems? For children? For general medical reference for the family?
Shonda Parker -- what are her titles?
Bill Philipps? sp? Never heard of it.
Thanks!

edited because I have been trying to clean off my bookshelves and can't recommend anything that might be new age connected.

For General Medical, these books have Conventional and Natural information (incl. herbal and homeopathic). Definitely my "go to" books.
Adults -- Smart Medicine for Healthier Living
Kids -- Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child

For Pregnancy, I'm sure you'll get lots of info, so I'll just mention the first one that comes to mind..
Adelle Davis' "Let's Have Healthy Children", which I am surprised to see is coming back into print (probably with very useful updates since it is an old book)

I decided to make this a sticky topic for this thread since it will come up often and this just makes it easier to find.
What do you think?

And they just came out with a new edition. Anyone compare it to the older edition? How much is changed?

I like this thread. I'll be looking up several of these books. I have Herbs for Health and Healing as a reference guide on my cookbook shelf in the kitchen.

Friends borrowed it etc. I gave my midwife a copy yrs. ago as well .
wise woman herbal for the childbearing year
it is just a wonderful book
I also like The One Earth Herbal Source Book
This book by Mrs. Grives is incredible it comes in two volumes
A Modern Herbal vol 1
I've also just purchased Tree Medicine
and I love it not to complicated .
There are also two books specific to the boreal forest I like as they give all the medical uses of the plants and trees , flowers etc. if anyone is interested .
