When I am reading a thread and come back to the active topics page, it tells me that there are no active topics since my last visit. What can I do to fix this? I am missing out in a lot of stuff that way!

This is happening to me too, and it isn't because I'm going over the 15 minute "time out".
What I've been doing in the meantime is going up to where it says "show active topics since" on the left hand side above the threads, and picking however long it's been since I've been on the boards (i.e. 16 hours or 15 minutes  ) This setting seems to "stick" when the "time since I was last on" seems to be resetting itself accidentally.

Yes. This is what I asked Tim about a couple of weeks ago. It has been happening more regularly in the past few days and after I have been on for only 3 or 4 minutes. I have been doing the same as Amy.
Any further advice or ideas, Tim?

Ladies-
I have reproduced the problem in Internet Explorer, but I am unsure of the root cause. Unfortunately, I will not be able to further research (and, hopefully, correct) the problem for another week or two.
In the meantime, take Amy's advice and utilize the "show active topics since" dropdown as a workaround.

FYI, I'm having the same trouble and using FireFox as well. No rush on the fix, as I just use the dropdown menu as well, but I just wanted to let you know in case you need the info to help.

I don't use Firefox but it is happening here as well. (Just wanted Tim to know it is not only Firefox users.) My message always comes up that there are no new active messages since one minute before I logged on. Strange.
