Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just realized that there were some posts made to a few topics I was watching that I didn't receive a notification email for.

Matilda-

Can you guess at how many e-mails you should have received but did not?

Were the posts that would have triggered those e-mails all made on the same day?

thanks-
Tim

There were at least three that I know of for one post and yes, they were all made today. I eventually had to sign up to watch the topic for replies in order to receive notices. It usually happens automatically and has done so for other topics that I have commented on since that one.

So, if I'm reading this correctly...

You believe that, before posting on a particular thread, you put a checkmark in the box next to "Email notify me of replies," but you did not receive any notifications for subsequent posts on that thread until you went back to it and clicked on the "Watch this topic for replies" link. Right? Or did I misinterpret?

Yes, you are correct except that that box is always automatically checked when I see the "Post a Reply" screen. I guess, maybe, it is possible that I accidentally unchecked it before posting, but that would have been a lucky shot with the mouse. It was only one topic that it happened to today, but then, I only posted that one response this morning, I think. If you can't find anything wrong, we can just chalk it up to my trigger finger, I guess!

I think that your assessment is probably correct.

Do you always click on the "Post Reply" button with the mouse? Sometimes I will TAB through a form and "click" on a button with the spacebar. Since the "Post Reply" button appears right after the notify checkbox in the tab order, I can see how it would be possible to uncheck it accidentally with the spacebar if someone used that procedure repeatedly. Hope that makes sense.

In any case, feel free to let me know if it ever happens again and you know for sure that you did NOT uncheck the notify box.
