Another update:
The homeowners of the MS will not sign the papers. BUT,
the grant program has modified the program so that people in our situation (there are 600 families total) can receive 50% of their grant amount. So we have started the paperwork process, again. Our debt is becoming oppressive and I want to ask you for your prayers that this grant money comes SOON!! Completing the grant process and receiving the funds will allow us to close the door on Katrina.

It's OVER!! Our grant check arrived today which will pay off ALL our Katrina debt.

Words can not express how happy I am. I told my dh tonight that I feel like we can start living our life, rather than being caught up in the past.

I need to thank Our Lady of Guadalupe for her intercession with Our Lord-3 months ago a life-size replica of St. Juan Diego's tilma that had been pressed up against the actual tilma came to our parish for a week. I prayed in front of the image of Mary and begged her to intercede for us. My prayers were answered, from that point on things began to move quickly and now we have the check in hand!!

I also need to thank you wonderful ladies for all your prayer and support these past 3 years. When I think about the chaos and turmoil after Katrina I always remember the support I found here. The phone calls, the handwritten letters, the emails and pm's, the picture book drive...all those things made me feel loved and cared for.
