Jenn,
I thought yours moved up by 28 weeks... |

First one was partial then turned out to be complete anterior, second was complete at 20, partial at 28, then very low anterior, right on the edge (marginal). But second was closely watched because of possible growth into scar tissue or organs. You need some good ultrasound technicians, and possibly an MRI to rule it completely out. Sonograms don't show everything for this scenario.
Your surgery will be different than your previous c-section, as they can't cut into the placenta. And if there is a chance of accreta, you need to have a really good surgeon, and hospital. Fairfax is the best for that worst case scenario.

Elizabeth,
I am praying fervently that the placenta is not in the scar tissue, and that it moves away from the cervix right away.
Remember when everyone prayed Memorares for Noel? I am praying Memorares for you, and I hope everyone else will, too.
"Remember, most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O, Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen."

I pm'ed you earlier Elizabeth, but Jenn brings up a good point that I wanted to emphasize - I underwent numerous IV ultrasounds as well as MRI's for exact placement and coverage measurements for my placenta previa with accreta (right up to 10 minutes before delivery) - they should watch this very closely!

Seconding the selection of a very good hospital or at least looking into that as well as a competent surgeon. I mentioned the benefits of blood banking in case of hemorrhage in my pm to you.
I'm really praying that none of the above is what is going on!!! Praying Memorare's daily so hard for you and the baby!

Hi Elizabeth,
I am excited to hear that you are having a girl! I am sorry to hear of that stubborn placenta. I will pray for it to move and for you to be guided to the right doctors and for the doctors to be guided to the right course of action.

As with some of the other ladies I have some experience with placenta accreta, although mine was not caught before I delivered and ended up having to have a hysterectomy to save my live.
Find a surgeon that you are comfortable with and have them be scaning you often to keep an eye on it. You will be in my prayers.

Dear Elizabeth,
I will be praying that things change for the best for you whilst I'm overseas. I'll offer up a special Mass for your intentions.
I know difficult pregnancies and they are such a worry. Our Lady will be close by your side as will her cousin Elizabeth and her Holy Mother Anne.
God Bless
Chemai

Prayers for you and the baby continue, Elizabeth. Let us all do the worrying, you just relax and grow a baby gal for everyone to coo over come December. If the darned placenta doesn't move, God will provide you with all that you need. You've had some wonderful advice from ladies who have been where you are.
I'm with Mary, Mary Beth is doing an EXCELLENT job posting to the blog. I can't think where her writing talents come from.
Such fun. And the photograph of baby sister is lovely - she's gorgeous. You just sit down and knit something, or a lot of somethings. I ought to send you all of my pink yarns. This little guy will probably prefer greens and blues, I'm thinking.
And ring for tea.
Blessings,
