I wanted to check in this morning to let everyone know I actually got to go and see Steph this morning. While her condition doesn't appear to be getting better, just being close enough to kiss her cheek or hold her hand has been the best gift in the world. She's not coherent enough to speak today, or stay awake for very long. She did manage to say I love you before she drifted off again though. I know I don't have to ask you all to continue prayers for her...
Oh, before I forget...Thanks so much for your prayers and kind words Bridget. Let me tell you, this forum has done miracles for our family lately, and even before Steph got so sick. It's definitely a great place to be.

Hi everyone. It's K. here with an update request from my dad.
He was called back to the hospital a short while ago. Mom is on her way to surgery again to have a chest tube inserted. She's suffering from (not sure on the spelling here) a pulmonary edema. If I'm not mistaken, that's when there's liquid on the lung. Her oxygen levels got really bad this afternoon, and they didn't think they would be able to wait for Dad to get there before they operated.
There is no reason (according to the hospital) why this should be happening, but then again it's something they can take care of and watch in the ICU.

Updated information: Mom is back in the ICU and on a ventilator for the time being. They are keeping her sedated more than usual, and watching her carefully for complications.
They are hoping to be able to remove her from the ventilator in 3 or 4 days.
I just thought you all would like to know. Dad will probably post tomorrow or really late tonight.

Merry Christmas to you and Stef and your entire family. We thought of you all during our Christmas day and the children and I made it a point to pray often for all of your intentions....even in the car.

Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for your prayers over the last few days.
They have had to keep Steph sedated so she wouldn't keep tugging at wires, tubes and hoses. This morning the doc in charge is supposed to contact me about her progress, and hopefully we'll find out that she doesn't need the traec after all.
Blessings to all of you. Stay safe and warm, enjoy your holidays, and I'll update when I know anything more.

Real quick update...no traec today!!
Praise God for big AND small miracles! Weather is still too bad to bus it over there, but at least I know she doesn't have to go through that procedure without me there.
Not out of the woods by a long shot, but at least we might be seeing some light finally...
The weather is supposed to clear up tomorrow, so I might ask K to sit with everyone so I can spend a good portion of the day there. Unfortunately, the kids still can't visit, but I'll bring video messages in case Steph is up to it.
