Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone, JP here. If you don't mind, could you boost up the prayers please? I know all of you have been wonderful about it from the beginning, but things have started to take a turn for the worse.

Steph has developed a pretty severe staph infection, and is not responding to the antibiotics as of yet. So far the prognosis is that she won't be home before the 24th, if she gets home for Christmas at all.

They have also started her on prednizone in the hopes to avoid a relapse of her Multiple Sclerosis.

Our family wishes each of you and yours a blessed day. I can't thank you enough for all you've been doing.

JP

I am glad to hear that her fever is going down and will pray for the antibiotics to do their work!
We are so happy to pray for Steph and your family- you do not, in any way, need to apologize asking for prayers.

God Bless you all,

Stacy in MI

Thank you all for being so gracious and caring about my darling wife and our family. I write today with news of great concern to me. First, they are trying very hard to find an antibiotic she won't have a reaction to. Their first choice resulted in a severe allergic reaction affecting Steph's breathing. Fortunately they got this part under control quite quickly.

Our children are scared. We still don't know when Steph will be home and it's weighing quite heavily on everyone.

Thank you all so very much for your support and prayers.

JP,
Our family is holding you very close in prayer--especially when we gather to pray our Rosary each evening.
Please let Steph know that we are praying and hoping that she will be home for Christmas. I hope the docs can find the right antibiotic for her.

I would get the tree, decorate it and if possible take a picture of it and the kids in front of it and bring it to the hospital to cheer her...

I will also pray for your car troubles.   May God continue to hold you in the palm of His hand!

JP-
I can only imagine how your children are feeling and their compassion and concern for their mom, but as a mom I would want my family to put up the tree and try to get into the Christmas spirit. It would make me feel so much better to know that the world hadn't stopped because I was in the hospital. I am sending prayers that someone from your parish or neighborhood can help you with transportation so you can visit Steph in the hospital. That has got to be the hardest part right now. You are carrying a very heavy cross right now, I only hope our prayers can lift a little of that burden.

Hug your kids

Please don't think your posts a nuisance. We appreciate the updates.

I second, or third, or fourth (I lost count ), the idea of decorating while she's at the hospital. She might not have the energy to oversee the decorating when she gets home. Maybe you can save the star at the top for her to see put up. You could also wait to plug in the lights till Christmas or mom's return, whichever comes first. It may serve to distract the children a bit during this stressful time also.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. And keep us posted.

Well ladies, I took your advice and we put the tree up this morning. Thank you all so much for helping me make that decision.

And Steph says "Hi everyone! I miss you, and I'm sending hugs."

Thanks everyone, and please keep praying.
