Thank you SO much for all the prayers.
I see I never mentioned that Paddy came down with it too, but seems to be over the worst now.
Aidan was admitted to the regional hospital yesterday for a course of IV acyclovir (an antiviral which is supposed to have good effects in cases like this).
Kevin spent the night with him yesterday so I could spend some time with my little Paddy, who I haven't seen much of during this time when we were trying to keep Aidan apart from the rest of the kids (a vain effort, but we didn't know it at the time). Aidan was running a fever yesterday when I left and obviously feeling poorly, and it was sooo hard to leave. I was in tears during Mass.
However, Kevin called to say that Aidan is acting much better today and has only a few more bumps than he did yesterday. I'm going in to visit him today (it's an hour's drive from where we live).
He has to stay in the hospital until new lesions stop forming, and then he can go home with oral acyclovir.
So I really hope that the IG has indeed kept things lowkey -- but time will tell.

I've been away and just saw this news. Poor little man. He's always my dear prayer intention. Karoline has a fever and I'm certain she'll keep me awake praying for Aidan tonight. It's a Foss tradition.

AIDAN IS HOME !!!!! we are rejoicing!
He had a very light dose of the chickenpox -- less than 50 spots. The most traumatic part of the hospitalization for him was the boredom of being caged in the room, and the IV and blood draw pokes -- 10 total  . His veins are so beat up after all he's gone through.
Thank you all 
It was the best possible outcome -- except all the failed IVs -- all the kids have had it now and so we don't have to wait for the other shoe to drop -- and Aidan may possibly have permanent immunity since he did have the virus, even though in a light form.
Celebrating -- toasting you all with a celebratory cup of cocoa, or mocha, or Irish coffee, or something --
It is so nice to finally be together as a family with no worries, after these three weeks of suspense. He has to drink a tablespoonful of this horrible blue liquid three times a day for a week -- but that is a small price to pay for being home with no more needles.
