Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My blog name, Frabjous Days, comes from Jabberwocky -- I was really stumped for a name, but love that poem, and nonsense poems in general!

But now I feel pretentious and embarrassed for having chosen it since lots of people say 'Wot?' when I tell them the URL. I thought it was quite a normal phrase

Elizabeth,

Every time I see your blog name I am already finishing the rest of the poem in my head...

"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig....

It's one of my favorites!

Suzanne, your Dad writes very well. Is he going to start his own blog?

If he did, I bet he'd like to host the "blog name carnival" !

My mom teaches at St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN and I just got an email from one of the theology professors there.....saying that the whole dept has been reading the 4real blogs lately and they LOVE them. They had no idea that people were actually celebrating the liturgical year "like this" and how fascinating the real application of "the domestic church" is to them.

And, thank you everyone for the prayers for my dad! I did   a post the other day about what it's like to receive letters from him.

Here's my first post that explains my blog name.

Suzanne, I loved what your dad wrote. It warmed my heart to read it.

Okay, this is amazing and very humbling. We are part of a "new evangelization" and I'm really excited.

I'm really enjoying this thread.

MaryM, we'd still find your blog. There have been name changes, but that really doesn't change the blog feed. I love your current name...I originally wanted to use "Domestic Church" somehow but wasn't clever enough to use the word "our".

Theresa and Suzanne, that is so neat that your fathers read the blogs...and all the other people who read them! Not that they are reading mine, but I'm sure we all have those days when you think that the blog writing is written and read by an audience of one!

Theresa, by the way -- how do you pronounce it? Is it: "La POZ" or is it "lap ez" -- sorry not good at phonetic writing yet!
Ever since I was little, I have perfected the art of "creative pronunciation." For example, most recently, I told someone I used the Box Mix "Krusteaz" -- and prounounced it as: "Crust-E-ATZ." They laughed and said that it's: "Crust-Ease."

So I just wondered how I was butchering your "name."

La Paz is pronounced "La" and then Paz roughly rhymes with "Oz"( as in The Wizard of Oz). It is Spanish for peace.

Wow, how cool is that, Suzanne!

I knew my parents read my blog regularly, but I had no idea they were reading other 4realers too until their last visit here, when my dad (who hadn't been on the computer for a few days) asked me how Margaret in MN was doing!

About the origin of blog names (great topic) I posted about where Bonny Glen comes from here and what inspired Lilting House here.

I know that my single sister, 26, enjoys reading your blogs I think she has even posted on links to some of her other single friends and even my young brother, 19 told me he spent some time looking around your blogs

I have just posted here about 'why' my name choice.

Suzanne,
Your Dad's letter was incredible. Thank you for sharing.
Lissa,
I think that is so sweet.

Hi, Ladies,

I just stumbled upon a FABULOUS nature/bio blog called Burning Silo . With a name like that there has to be an interesting story, right? Yes! Here is a link to the 'inside story' It is a bit long, but it is worth it. Try reading it aloud to your spouse. It struck us so funny my side hurt. She is an excellent writer, a talented photographer and a naturalist.   Check it out! Burning Silo - the inside story
