ETA: I hit reply too soon. Yesterday my sons and I visited stellamaris (Caroline) at her house and had a WONDERFUL time. Time flew by. Can't get better than talking books, Charlotte Mason, Catholic faith and Mom stuff over lunch and coffee.
You would die over her book room. It's so fabulous!

That sounds WONDERFUL! There is nothing like spending some time with another seasoned homeschooler that loves books, too!
I too am reorganizing, decluttering my little shoe(read house) and it is SO frustrating. I cannot believe how many books we have amassed. I am thinking of praying a novena for a larger house with more bookshelves!!
I did so much yesterday and drank too much iced tea. Evidently, it caused me to have major insomnia last night. I have to figure out how to live my life more in balance. There is always SOMETHING that makes my job harder.
At least one of my major stressors off and on during the last month, 4H, will be over for us at the end of tomorrow. We just have to do our Barn Watch and then we will be done. It has been a frustrating year for that. 5 of the children had entries....and multiple entries, at that. They did very well in judging. I am so proud of them for putting up with the red tape.
I am all too painfully aware that people that have only used the public schools have no idea how homeschoolers work. We don't need certain things/events that are set up by others to learn new skills or practice them. I have had experiences with some that make me scratch my head and wonder.... Sure homeschooling is challenging, but I LOVE IT~!!!! I am so grateful to God for the calling and doing it all of the way through. And to think that the top 3 kids will be done with homeschooling next spring

I've been spending a lot of time lately sitting with my mom, who has early onset Alzheimer's, while my step-dad searches for a decent nursing facility for her. Sadly, she has gotten to the point where professional care is needed. Today he finally found a lovely place in which he is comfortable placing her, which is very good news. But so sad to think that she has to go. Very mixed emotions here.

I'm sorry Theresa.
I'm glad he found a nice place though.

Oh, Theresa, I'm sorry your family must bear this heavy cross. My grandmother, aunt and great-aunt had Alzheimer's, so I know all too well how tough these decisions are on everyone. I'm so thankful you're there to help your father during this very stressful time.

Theresa,
I'm so sorry. That must be so hard. I'll keep your family in my prayers as you go through this difficult time.
Quiet day here, after a long time traveling. Of course, the a/c had to be repaired when we got home, and our doggie is sick- the vet says it's probably stress from being boarded.
I'm going to start our book orders on Friday. But today and tomorrow, I am taking a breather, and enjoying the Olympics with the kids.

Did you just type "book room"? I'd love to take a peek
With that note: This Friday my friends and I are making a trip to the Dollar Used Book store we found back in May. I can't wait to see what we find this time
We finally got a trip to the beach on Monday and the kids had a blast. We're hoping to try and make it out there next week too (crossing our fingers).
I finished my Dolman sweater last Friday. I'm on a role because over the weekend I started a second piece and just finished this cute sweater vest shrug yesterday. My dh thinks I'm a little nuts (or was that obessesed) for working on my first official crochet fall/winter wardrobe in summer, but hey it is offically August !!
Have a great rest of the week ladies

Desperately need rain
Appraisal came back on sale of current home
Completed a 31 item city parks scavenger hunt with kids
Ate Chick Fil A for breakfast and dessert after dinner
Had a couple Facebook "debates" about said chicken place
Guess it's time for bed

It's technically a school room, but to me, it was more of a book room.
Jenny, can't wait to hear about your book purchases!

Today is Thursday, but I had to insert that isolated thunderstorms in the past two days brought our little house 1.26 inches of rain. I'm thrilled! I just picked our first zucchini of the season.
