) It's 10 cents to get your item back. If you throw it away or donate it outside the family, you get paid 10 cents. Any money paid goes in a jar for charity. Within a week or two of starting this, my oldest started his "downstairs patrol" every night before bed. It's been a great motivator for them to get rid of stuff they're just holding onto and don't really value.
