Saint Louis de Montfort acclaims St. Francis de Sales as one of the greatest Marian saints. He has come to know the meekness of the Blessed Virgin who “from day to day … appeared more beautiful … especially in her sweetness.” (Glories of Mary)

Resolution:
St. Francis doesn’t ask me to be mild immediately. He says to practice meekness when it is easy so that it becomes a habit, a virtue. Today, I will practice speaking mildly when it is easy, so that I may develop the habit of meekness in imitation of Our Lady, even when it is difficult.

Marian Vow:
St. Francis de Sales has wise words for one consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary: “So we must not only use gentle words towards our neighbors but must be filled with gentleness, that is, our very inmost soul.
St. Francis de Sales, Introduction to the Devout Life, (Tan Books),142.

I give this resolution to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

That *was* a beautiful Mary Vitamin! It was so encouraging and affirming to me. It ties interior mildness to speaking quietly and gently, both of which are Marian qualities.

I love how today's practice is to speak mildly when it is *easy* to do so....in order to develop the habit. So doable and encouraging....and just what I need right now.
