Oh, Joann! We will be praying for sure. My heart sunk when I saw poor in the update line! I am so very sorry.
Don't you run yourself ragged either my dear! I know how hard worry and anxiety can be on health issues.

So sorry. My Dad had the same procedure a month ago, no vent but had to have a second exploratory surgery a week later so we had to start the whole NG tube and slow intro of food again.
With my father's short term memory loss, he does not understand why he has stomach pain and after 3 weeks in the hospital the strength be built with walking the months previously is gone.
That said, he is moving forward slowly, taking short walks and eating small meals (I am determined that almost everything he eats will help him recover form his anemia--but I cannot deny him his favorite pastries)
I will pray that your mother can get rest at your father's side and your father can be taken off the vent and his NG tube can be removed this week.

I am so sorry, Joann! My dad ended up with intestinal blockage and back in the hospital after a recent surgery. It is so serious! I am sorry that your dad needed emergency surgery, but am thankful that the doctors realized that it needed to be done. Praying that he is now improving and for a more rapid recovery than anticipated. Praying for strength and peace for your mother and for all of you!
