Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Looks like it might be my new favorite dessert!

I think I'll put almond extract in mine.

My dd - almost 13 years old - did get a look at it. Guess what she had after lunch!

We made them this morning. Delicious! Be warned-they are one huge chunk of cake. None of us could finish ours, even ds only got halfway through.

Yes ... but y'all may not be the omnivores I've got around here!    I think we need Fr. Z -- who doesn't think a meal is truly a meal without meat and chocolate -- to taste-test this particular delectable!

We made this last night and it was so cool! I couldn't believe it would actually work. Thankfully, we just made one at first (and did make a second when it worked) because even though the recipe said it would serve 2, we split it 3 ways and everyone had a hard time finishing. Could have had something to do with the vanilla ice cream on top . Thanks for the recipe, Stef!

Argh. You shouldn't have responded, Molly. Now I'm craving another one and it's only 6:46 am here. I better not pay any more attention to this thread. It's more temptation than I need right now!! Enjoy your cakes, everyone

We've had this recipe taped to the inside of our cupboard all this time, and tonight, it was gone (gasp) and I had to look it up again.

Just thought I'd bump it cause its SO yummy.
