My dh just gave me a gift of chocolate from Leonidas. This gourmet chocolate is fabulous!
My hometown favorite chocolate is Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. Delicious! No matter where I have lived, I have never found a hometown chocolate that I have liked better.
What are your favorite chocolates?
Love,

Hershey's is a favorite of mine, too! I remember driving to Hershey Park with my family as a kid, going on the "how chocolate is made" tour, and being amazed that the whole town smelled like chocolate - YUM!
Love,

I think Dove chocolate is my favorite. The kids know that it is Mommy's special "feel good" candy.

Cadbury milk chocolate with roasted almonds.
For baking... Ghiaradelli milk choc. chips. Much better than nestles.

Ritter Sport.
When I was in high school my dad was stationed in Germany, and our first year there we lived one town over from the factory... I was *so* excited when they finally became available here in the U.S.!

I really like cadbury - but imported from Europe. It tastes different then the ones made elsewhere. I also like Lindt.
Actually, since being here in LV, I have found Ethel's. They have a factory here that you can tour. DH got some of this for me for Mother's Day. It was very good

I haven't been able to eat chocolate for...maybe 10 years. It gives me very bad migraines. It's a good thing that after not eating chocolate for so long, carobe is even starting to taste good .
Too bad I haven't been able to find carobe-candy without either milk or soy in it...and the baby can't handle me eating milk or soy, so no sweets for me .
ETA: the best chocolate is off course Dutch Droste .
Sorry to whine on this yummy thread.

We loved the Milka varieties in Austria and the Cadbury in England (and yes, it does taste different ... maybe they use sugar but it comes over here and uses corn syrup?) .... anyway, we also loved the variety of really dark chocs you could there (and by percent!)
Scharfen-Berger is great for baking and they have one that is great for snacking on, too.
DH likes any kind of chocolate and if he doesn't have some in the frig for quick snacking .... well, let's just say, someone is in trouble!

Oh my goodness. 5:57 am and you're talking CHOCOLATE! I'm in heaven :)
My favorite for snacking is Lindt, or really any dark chocolate that's lying around the house... lately it's been Novi, from dh's trip to Italy. I also like using Lindt and Scharffen-Berger for baking.
When on sale I love Green and Black's and Vosges -- although I haven't seen the Vosges on sale for a while so I've only had the Black Pearl and Macha.

If I could spend as much as I wanted on chocolate I would get Alter Eco's 85% Chocolate Blackout. I only buy that when it is on sale. So, what I usually buy is Lindt 85% cocoa. In my opinion it is the best affordable snacking chocolate that I can get around here. I have tried most if not all brands of 85% cocoa that my grocery store carries and the others seem to have a weird texture or for some reason lack taste. Can you tell that I like chocolate Actually, when we were at the dr the other day, my 4yo dd told the dr how she likes mommy's "medicine". She said, "it is so delicious and tastes like chocolate". I had to explain to the dr that it actually *is* chocolate
Like Angie, I do enjoy Gertrude Hawk. I mainly get it around the holidays or when my mom comes to visit. When I eat chocolate I tend to eat too much so I prefer to eat super dark chocolate so that I don't get too much sugar. And thanks for reminding me about Gertrude Hawk, I had forgotten that I am supposed to pick some up before going to MI next week

Oh, there are quite a few chocolates I like, but I do go for the dark. The darker the better. I do like having some nuts or other crunch mixed in with the chocolate.
Ritter Sport (with Hazelnuts) is one of my favorites from Trader Joes. I love Godiva, too, KC. We have a lot in common. And Green and Black's...I found they had an organic chocolate ice cream at my grocery store and I was in heaven. Their chocolate bars are good, too. There's also Endangered Species Chocolate which has a few dark flavors I like.
But Dh just gave me a box of chocolates yesterday for our engagement anniversary -- Neuhaus, from Belgium. This is the second time, the last was my 40th birthday. I have to admit I like it better than Godiva...it might be my new favorite.

I love a good dark chocolate, especially Dagoba. We also love Terry's Chocolate Oranges (I prefer the dark variety), but they only come around at Christmas (at least around here) and they go fast!

I was a devoted Godiva chocolate fan for years...but...Leonidas may win me over! I'm thinking that a taste-off might be in order .
Beth, I'm so happy to see another Gertrude Hawk fan here! One of my losses in moving to AZ is that my mother can't easily ship GH chocolate for Easter because... desert heat + chocolate = mess to eat with a spoon .
I really can't decide between milk and dark chocolate...love em both. I do like nuts.
Ooooooooo, Devin and I will be checking out all of your suggestions so...keep them coming, please!
Love,
