Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Maria Lucia,

Hello to another Marylander! What part of MD do you live in? We live south of Baltimore and north of Ft. Meade.

In Christ,

Hello, my, name is Therese. I have been reading, learning, crying and laughing with all of you on the forum for about a year now. I decided it was time to officially join you on this journey. My husband, Jamie and I live in Enid, Oklahoma with our three sons (10, 7, 2). We also have one daughter in heaven and a blessing due in October. We have been learning at home for three years and have enjoyed the journey and blessings immensely. I am very thankful to have the support of this group as we are the only Catholic home school family that I have been able to locate here in Enid. Thank you, Therese

Welcome, Therese!

I know how it feels to be the only Catholic homeschooler around........I can sympathize with you. It is one of the reasons I love this board.......it does a great job of filling in the emptiness of being the loner.

I am glad you finally posted. ........please let us know if there is anything we can do to help!

God bless!

Hi, I'm Stephanie, and a mom to 3 little girls (4.5, 2 and almost 1). I'm a S@HM in Tennessee and am eagerly reading and researching about homeschooling. I'm eager to peruse archives and learn from those with more experience in such areas.

(PS. I blog over at Punkin' Press).

Hi, I'm Katie, SAHM to 3 daughters (dds 1 and 2 will be turning 7 and 3 this summer, and dd3 was just born this St. Patrick's day!)

Dd1 is currently in Kindergarten at a Catholic school, but we will be homeschooling starting this upcoming school year. We've found a great local Catholic homeschool group that will be starting up a co-op for next year, so we're really excited about that!

Dh and I are both converts (we converted together at easter vigil 2007) and excited to always be learning and growing in our faith!

Hi, I'm Tina and I have 4 children that I have homeschooled since the beginning. My children are dd12, dd9, dd5 and ds is 21months. I was introduced to this forum last summer and went to the 4Real Learning Conference. It was wonderful! I was and am still hooked.

I purchased Elizabeth's book and used her booklist to make plans for this past school year. My children did not enjoy much of our homeschooling before, because we basically "schooled at home", but now we read real books and do art and nature study and celebrate the liturgical year with Teatime. We use very few text and workbooks (mostly for math) and my children are enjoying learning so much more.

I started a blog, originally to keep in touch with family (we have no family local), but have since started adding to it to make it more like a scrapbook/journal/record of the things we do. It's nothing fancy, but you can visit us at The Best of Times. I am looking forward to being a part of this group and sharing and chatting with you!

Hi! My name is Erin and i am a mama to my three little ones: Issy who is 5, Isaac is 3 and Liam is 20 months. We are starting home education (well, i would say in the fall with Issy, but we started educating a long time ago ) and a dear friend recommended the book and this forum to me. I am feeling overwhelmed and excited about this venture. I stay at home with my babes, but i am looking forward to starting a distance learning program in midwifery in a few months, in addition to my time with them. I am hoping for inspiration from other Mamas in my situation.

Yay! Welcome my dear friend! ;) I'm so happy to have you here with us :) You are a blessing to everyone who God sends you to. I understand the overwhelming feelings (especially after looking at your dear sister's blog!)blog,
but that is what I like about the feeling of a 'Real Learning' approach to education: it is Real and therfore mostly enjoyable for the children and you. Either way, this is a great place to be overcome our overwhelming times together. ;)

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to become a part of this forum! I am sure I'll be here quite a bit, as it revolves around everything that means the most to me.

My name is Laura, and I have a wonderful husband named Michael. We have 4 children: dd{A}(10 y.o.), and triplets ds{J}, dd{O} and ds{S} (all 5 y.o). All 4 have a birthday this summer.

We are a Catholic, homeschooling family, and we love our life! My husband and I both have our own business (I am a professional photographer / he's a truck letterer and sign maker)generally run from home, and together we school the children, run the home, care for the kids, and work around each other as we need to. We are a team in quite a bit, and it works so well for us. We value our faith and our family, and are grateful to have found a way to live our life centering on those things on a daily basis. Homeschooling fits our life style perfectly.

Our oldest daughter is in 5th grade, w/ a couple 6th grade topics. Our triplets are kindergarteners, and we have had such a fun and exciting year! By the grace of God, all of our kids love learning in all styles possible. We have been homeschooling for 3 years now, and likely will forever.

I think that covers it!! (Feel free to ask questions if you have any though.) I look forward to participating on this forum and meeting you all as I do!

                               ~ Laura (LLR4)

Hi, I'm new here too. My name is Aubrey, and I'm homeschooling my 3 & 5 yo dds in Michigan. I found this forum on the recommendation of a friend from church, and it looks like a great resource. I'm also active on the Well Trained Mind forum, and trying to grow an IRL homeschool group in my small town. It's nice to have the Catholic perspective here, as the WTM group is very diverse.

Hello ladies! My name is Kelly and I am a SAHM to 3 little boys, ages 6, 3 and 7 months. I converted in 2006 and this fall will be my first year homeschooling. My oldest son attended public school and we have not been happy with the school here. I am very excited to have found this forum for support for both growing in my Faith and homeschooling my children.

Hi everyone! I am so happy that I stumbled onto this board! I am a 30 (very close to 31) year old, SAHM. I have two wonderful boys (ages 12 and 2). We are bringing home my oldest son to homeschool. He has 8 days of public school left...then he's all mine.

My husband and I are still trying to decide on what curriculum to use. We had NO IDEA how many wonderful options there are out there. With lots of prayers and patience, I know we will figure it all out.

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hello, I'm Erika and I have two girls, 4 and 1, as well as a stepdaughter who is 12. I work outside the home full time but hope that my dh gets a promo soon so I can leave my job and start my real job! I definately want to homeschool my children and through reading many Montessori blogs I stumbled upon this wonderful place. I've been lurking for a week or so and thought it was time I joined. As I alluded to, I have fallen for the Montessori approach to "teaching," but I also will probably throw some other styles in there. So, is eclectic a style of homeschooling? Anyway, happy to be among kindred spirits!
