Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello, my name is Theresa and I live in the UK with my dh and five children (son9, son7, daughter4, son2 and baby son five months). We've home educated since our eldest tried school for five weeks (disaster) aged 4. We have quite a loose style which we've settled into after setting out too structured for us. I found my way here reading blogs and have been blown away by the inspiration to be found here. I'm a cathlic convert, four years ago now, but dh is a 'cradle catholic'. I'm loking forward to joining in,

Welcome, to you too, Theresa! I am a convert, too, over 20 years now.

I can understand your being blown away........this is a special place. Glad you have joined us!

i am so happy to be here, i have been reading these forums for quite some time and finally joined~yeah~
i am a fisrt year homeschool mom of two girls, six and three. We follow a classical/montessori plan, as my six year old daughter went to a montessori pre-school, and we all loved it.
i really am happy to have found a place where i can relate.

Hi ladies! I'm Clara. I've been married for 8 years and have 4 children - 2 girls and 2 boys. They range in age from 7.5 to 2.5. This is our second year homeschooling. Currently we are doing 1st and 2nd grade and a little bit of preschool/kindergarten with my 4 yr old. I lean towards an unschooling approach with some structure thrown in. We are really enjoying homeschooling. Both my husband and I are cradle Catholics. I'm doing a home study course to be a midwife and hoping to start an apprenticeship soon. This site was recommended to my by my Aunt Chari (who is one of your mods here). "Hi Aunt Chari!" It seems like this is a wonderful forum. I'm looking forward to learning from you wise women!

Welcome Theresa, Nina, Michelle, mamaslearning, mamamoon, and Clara, and thanks for your introductions. Jump on into the conversation, I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Clara, it is always fun to have relatives of members join in on the fun. My sister is on this board and, wow, to think of my nieces being here...

Love,

Elizabeth, I am so curious as to how you set up your day.   (I loved your book btw--I read it when my toddler was a newbie). Any advice for a momma who struggles with "schedule"?

God Bless,
Maggie

Hello, Clara!

I only look at this forum about once every three months........and I looked on the day you posted (but did not have time to come back and post) and I saw a "Clara" married for 8 yrs with two boys, two girls........and I thought, hey, that sounds like MY Clara.....except she has not been married 8 yrs.

I read the next two sentences and thought: hey, that sounds like MY Clara, too.

Then I read the "midwife" comment.......and now all I am thinking is: this IS MY Clara!

Has it really been EIGHT years already????? Amazing! Happy anniversary!

Angie........I have known Clara since she was 6 mos old........and wanted to have nothing to do with me, for almost two years........always giving me that look, you know which one I mean?

What is so cool now, is what kindred spirits we turned out to be.....sadly, we live WAY TOO FAR away from each other. Hopefully she will be heading out to a visit to see HER mountain, here, someday......(yeah, Clara, I know......wishful thinking )

In the meantime........you can have a little peek on my avatar

Welcome dear!

Hi my name is Basia. I've been a member here for several months, but haven't introduced myself as I have recently had a baby boy. We are from Sydney, Australia and have been homeschooling for 3 1/2 years. I have one dd Jessica(11)and ds Connor(7 weeks).

I read the book Real Learning just before the birth of my son and have been slowly trying to follow a more Charlotte Mason / Montessori approach. To some extent we did this in the past as well but, this book and forum has inspired me to fully adopt this way of learning.

I love reading and books, cooking, and generally being a stay at home mum. I hope to get to know you all and continue learning from everyone.

Hi, my name is Gina. We live in Aptos, CA and found my way to 4Real through Laura's blog. I have 3 children: ages 11, 9, and 7. I homeschool our two girls (11 and 7) and our 9 year old who has Autism attends an excellent school in our area. God bless you all.
