Put me to work! I can call vendors if someone will give me the proper "script" and what to ask for. Actually, I will pretty much do anything! This is so exciting! DO I sound too giddy? Don't care

I'm in! I am not quite in NoVa anymore. And I hate the phone! But, seriously, I would like to help. Just let me know what needs to be done.

I would love to come to the conference but I am due mid-July - so just depends on time and place and when our little guy decides to make an appearance. I would also be happy to help in small ways before mid-June.
Sounds great!

Maryan and Mary Ellen are working on coordinating some dates and facilities and ... I don't know exactly. I just know that they are both conference experts and they're working on it.

Do we have any idea on a date yet?
I am really hoping it's not June as there would be too much of a chance with it conflicting with another conference.
Any clue?

Golly, Willa.........isn't this the type of talk we had to listen to for years before we finally started the westcoast camping trip (on its SIXTH year this summer! ) Sheesh!
You all tempt me to an occasion of sin, against the 10th commandment. I WILL not give in....but it is really hard NOT to be jealous .......esp when I am a good planner and am quite capable of helping.......except, um, I think I live almost as far away as I can in the states. (and, where i am glad to be, btw )
And, what is WORSE ...my goodness!! I am going to be spending about THREE weeks on the east coast this summer.......and this conference will no doubt NOT be when I am there, this twice in-a-lifetime-visit to your side of the country
This is simply torture.
Okay, now that THAT is out of my system. I propose we do east coast one year, west coast next year, and so on. I am sure I can get Willa to take charge next year
wouldn't that be fun? I know some pretty cool people here on the west coast that just MIGHT be interested.
And, that would give the east coasters a break in planning every other year.......AND, be an excuse to get some of you speakers out here to the west coast
Am I overstepping my bounderies????

And, Chari, the only reason I'm up so late is so I can sing Happy Birthday in 10 more minutes to my newly turned 14 yr old and kiss his cheeks and have him groan "Mooooom!!!!" and roll his eyes and stick his head under his pillow and wish he was never born...into this family anyway.
Hey! isn't your Garrett's b-day in March too? Better move this conversation off this thread before I get banned.

Hi Chari,
I love your idea!!!
I also like the idea of a conference in the middle of the country, say Denver, where it would be relatively easy for most of us to attend for a weekend.
The east coast version sounds wonderful and maybe some of us westerners will be able to make it one year. This year's date may end up conflicting with your camping trip, Chari. Ah, well.
I'm off to bed....
God bless,

I'm coming in late here. I'm new to homeschooling and to attending conferences. But I am in NoVa and willing to help. Consider me volunteered!

Would a conference the weekend of August 11 be too late? We're trying to coordinate dates here and frankly, it's so late that lots of people have plans already.

Unless we're moving that weekend, August 11th would work for me. Don't tell Chris, but I'd be happy to help in whatever small way I can.

I may not be able to make that, but otherwise it would be great, that is not too late at all.

I think August is a tough month because so many people have already planned for the coming school year. But, on the other side, I do think that whenever you have it, people will come! Not much help am I? Personally I do know that I will not be in town that weekend.
