Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just saw this. I like to say that I am a living relic - I met Pope John Paul II in a private audience and he touched my forehead while giving me a blessing!

Seriously, he did give me a rosary, so won't that be a relic? Or to be more precise, if it needs to be something that he actually touched, won't the little plastic case for the rosary be a relic?
Irene, the rosary is I believe a "3rd class relic" and so are you (technically)! We too met JP2 and he blessed all of us (but Joe -- which could explain alot ) and the shawl I wore that day is shown here as I just couldn't see it being just worn again .... so I framed it!

My father is very skeptical of all this. Can anyone speak to the legitimacy of this group?

Jennifer,

In this day and age I can imagine your dad being skeptical. I only know that by clicking around on the page -- I am linked to the Diocese of Rome and the Vicar of Rome. My Italian is non-existent, but if you scan the home page in Italian, you can see letters from Monsignors who are attached to the Rome diocese, etc.

I'm assuming it's legit -- but I can be naive ... but if someone was going to this much trouble, they can have the "donation"!
