Dear friends,
Could you please pray for my mother. She called me yesterday to let me know that she has been diagnosed with shingles!! 
She is in a lot of pain and has a very painful rash on her right leg. She is staying away from us right now as her dr. told her the rash is contagious. My mom has been a lifeline for me since the baby was born and she is so sad to have to stay away. I just hope the stress of taking care of us (and our laundry) didn't precipitate this outbreak!

Oh, shingles are no fun. I'm praying. (I've had them.)
Stress can trigger shingles, true, but so can a weakened immune system (like, if she had been sick with something else).

Prayers for your mother, Jennifer. Sometimes the shingles is a secondary strain of chicken pox. Did she have it when she was younger?
My dh talks about when his father had it. His father would take the pillow from the couch to his face and scream in pain.

I'll pray for your mother too. My brother had it during his radiation treatments for his cancer many years ago. it was vey painful. It is hard that she cannot be there for you all right now. Many prayers for her quick healing.

My mum had shingles, and I can recall how awfully painful it was for her. I am praying for your mom, Jennifer!
