Don't rent funny movies for awhile though, we made that mistake when my sister and I had our tonsils removed. It hurt so much to laugh!

HI Janette,
Don't be afraid to use the pain medicine as directed...they do feel much better and actually heal better if they are not in a ton of pain. I have had 2 sons go through surgeries for tonsil and adneoids...just keep the fluid going on them.....my doc was pretty strict about no rough housing for 2 weeks post op, because they can start hemorrhaing at 10-14 days when the scabs come off....I just rolled my eyes, (like boys will be calm for 2 weeks, HA!) but a few days pre-op, before the last T&A we went through, this lady at a home show was telling everyone how her daughter did just that, and it was an ambulance drive to the hospital and emergency surgery...but she was perfectly fine afterwards....sooo, I took that as my nudge from my Guardian Angel to pay attention to what the doc said. We watched plenty of movies those 2 weeks . That, obviously, was not ment to freak you out  ..On a good note, my kids really didn't complain too much after the first 24-48 hours of the pain being too terrible. They needed the pain meds, but were happy campers if they got that...needed it for almost 10 days...tapering as we went along...so don't get too overwhelmed with the pain stuff.....that's what tylenol with codeine is for!!!
As mulitiple surgery veterans with our kids....we'll be praying for Nicholas!!

Having a child undergo surgery is always nerve wracking. I'll keep him (and his parents!) in my prayers.

Nicholas just went in for the surgery about 20 minutes ago. Thanks for your continued prayers!

and right after I posted that, Janette came to tell me that the doctor was finished already. Everything went well...we are just waiting for them to wheel Nicholas back into the room with us.
