Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I can relate too Kathleen. I'll be praying for peace and a blessed delivery.

Praying for you...

FWIW, I usually end up praying the Rosary during delivery. It really helps to relax me, even with the odd looks from the nurses. Maybe it's something to try?

I will keep you in my prayers. I deal with fears & anxiety often. I just keep trying to pray and surrender everything to God. May God grant you peace & calm as you joyfully give birth!

(((HUGS))) and prayers for peace.
Don't feel bad about your feelings and concerns. I remember when I was expecting #5, I wrote asking for prayers. My exact words were "I'm as nervous as a tic." I was really anxious but everything went beautifully.

Praying, Kathleen. My doctor wrote this prayer:

Prayer for Safe Delivery

O Mary, the Mother of my God and my Mother, you who carried your Divine Son near your Immaculate Heart until that most holy night in Bethlehem, protect and watch over my child resting in my womb.

Together with Christ thy Son, grant me the graces to accept from His infinite goodness this precious gift of a new life with total commitment of my being, and with unrestricted love, and always with a conscious and a loving resignation to conform to His holy will.

Grant me too, my dearest Mother, the spiritual courage and physical strength to accept any burdens of my childbirth that may be mine, as a personal sacrifice of love to your Divine Son, so that I may deliver my child safe and sound into the world.

Finally, instill in me, O Mother of my God, those same virtues of patience, kindness and of love, with which you accepted the Angelic message in your home in Nazareth. Grant that I may ever be respectful of the gift and the meaning of life, and that I may always be mindful of my motherly responsibilities expected of me by God, the Father of us all.

Grant this, my prayer, through Jesus Christ thy Son and our Lord....Amen.

I'll be praying for you....and I empathize. I am expecting #5 in April....and sometimes scary labor memories come back and make me nervous.

Take heart: the same God who has been with you, holding your hand, through your previous childbirth experiences will be with you now.

Praying! Try to say a Hail Mary through each contraction, it really helps to focus.

Blessings,
Krisann

Praying, Kathleen. I know that fear. After my first delivery I felt so "traumatized" (and I was young) I actually worked with a Childbirth Educator through my entire next pregnancy to prepare. And prayed constant Hail Marys (which I'd never done before) between breaths with my husband. It wasn't pain-free, but it was blessed. And my heart really turned to Our Lady after that. You just never know what God has in store and fear is so debilitating....it just drains us.

I pray for peace...Hope you are en-COURAGE-d.

Praying you find peace and comfort. St. Faustina's words "Jesus I trust in You" are my remedy for fear.

Thankyou all for your prayers.....I am asking for some continuing prayers for me and the little one dear ladies.   I had my midwife appointment yesterday and my blood pressure has been creeping with each week and it is now just a little bit too high. She really doesn't want me to go into labor with it where it is because it will go up during labor as well. It isn't preeclampsia, but secondary pregnancy induced hypertension. I do this with each pregnancy. She says I need to be "horizontal" and rest for a few days in an effort to bring it down some.

Back to bed,
Kathleen

Kathleen,

I know how you feel...I struggle mightily with anxiety during pregnancy, too. During the last few weeks, I would wake up during the wee hours, unable to go back to sleep and just cry and pray the Rosary.

I still struggle with anxiety...in fact today is turning into a bad day, so I will offer up my suffering today for you.

God bless you and hang in there! You can do this!

Dawn

Kathleen,

You have my prayers, too. I remember when I was pg with my 5th.......feeling so panicked about labor....I definitely knew what to expect

Them the next year, all of my friends were pg with their fifth, feeling the same thing.

Seems like a frequent issue with fifth babies (though 4th comes a close second from what I have seen)......

Beautiful prayer, Jenn! Thanks for sharing!

I love your words, KrisZ.......especially the word surrender. Easy for me to say, I am not pregnant right now.

BTW, welcome to the boards, KrisZ!

Keep us updated, Kathleen! Horizontally, of course
