Well, he's still fevering and the nose gunk has thickened. We have an 11:30 appointment (more to appease my mom than anything). I think its a cold/flu thing and there really isn't anything they can do for that except to run its course but my mom thinks he should go in... so in an effort to keep the peace (and be allowed to talk to her about him, lol) I'll take him in.
He is in good spirits when the Tylenol cold/Motrin is working.

Theresa, we will continue our prayers for your little Andrew. My youngest has a wicked cold today. He was up all night coughing and today he has the gunky nose, chapped face and general misery that goes along with being 5 and sick.

Theresa, you are so good to remember CJ! Yes, he is definitely better - still snuffly but feeling better. Looks like it's EB's turn now.

We are back and home from the Dr.
They did a nose swab on Andrew and it turned out positive for Parainfluenza A - because it was caught within the first 24-48 hours we are able to have tamiflu which is supposed to help shorten the duration of the virus and decrease the severity.
Please continue to lift him up before the throne of God. He is not moving much today and he just keeps saying he is getting rest.

Theresa,
Just saw this and am praying for your little Andrew! I was at my ped's office on Monday for Anthony's 2 week check up and she cautioned me strongly to keep him isolated due to the strep and flu--she says they are getting tons of cases in her office right now! Andrew will be in our Rosary intentions as will Dawn's boys and Paula's little one. It's February!

Theresa, I'm praying here! You are one of the lucky ones -- did you catch the news reports the other night stating that none of the metro area hospitals had any Tamiflu in stock???

Yeah, My Pedatrician told me that there was a shortage so he called our small town pharmacy himself to make sure they had it so that I would have to be contacting or running all over to find it. Praise God they had some in! I love our pedatrician.
Did you see the news report tonight Paula? 3 deths reported in MN from it and another today that hasn't yet been reported in the news but was told to my friend by her Dr.
Praising God also that we are covered by the blood of Jesus and healed by his stripes. I am annointing each one of the kids tonight and praying over them. No weapon formed against them will prosper in Jesus' name!
If you ask Andrew if he is sick he says no he's better now. If you ask him if he's healed he says yes. Gotta teach him early to order his confession aright and speak life.

Earlier I couldn't find my thermometer and Andrew was just hot!!!! It was time to give him his dose of Tylenol so I did. Thirty minutes later he was still hot even after having the meds. We found the themometer and his temp was 104.5! We waited about 15 more minutes and then it was 103.5 and then we did the lukewarm bath to bring it down further.
He's walking and talking now and asking to play a game but this fever is aggressive. We are alternating Tylenol and Motrin ever 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours.
Thanks for the continued prayers.

My son had a febrile seizure from his fever spiking too fast. It was the scariest thing to witness. We do that alternating when he starts getting high fevers just to prevent that happening again...which is a chance until he's 6 or so.
