Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was sweeping the floor with Cindy's skirt...maybe I'm shorter than I thought. Or...maybe it has to do how long one's inseam is.

Elizabeth, I totally think it's because of where I'm tying it, not at my waist at all, just at the bottom of my ribcage actually, over my little bump. After the baby, I will most likely have to hem it.

Okay, Now I have a wrap skirt from Modest World and one from Tznius, I MUCH prefer the one from Modest World.   Mostly because the tie is smaller and waaayyy less bulky. The one from Tznius is about 3 inches wide and makes a very bulky bow or knot that looks and feels awkward. It's also twill and needs ironed often, that's alot of skirt to iron. The skirt from Modest World is very wash and wear. I wore it 4 times before I needed to wash it, and it moves and glides with me so easily. I'm considering selling the one from Tznius to buy another from Modest World, anyone interested?

Thanks for your post, Lisa! It is always good to hear all opinions about a product. I like to weigh all reviews before making any decisions!

It's that VISCOSE fabric!!!! ....doesn't need ironing and wears well. I bought an Oilily dress from ebay a couple years ago, simply because it was viscose, and it's still one of my favorite dresses. I wonder why more clothes aren't made with viscose?

The TIE: That's good to know about the tie....I have wondered why they make the tie so thick, thought maybe it's more durable that way. Especially in the corduroy, it gets bulky.

Lisa, thanks for the thumbs up on the Modest World skirt. I may have to give it a try. Can you tell us about the length of it vs. the other one? I don't remember whether that's been discussed here. Thanks!

The length is the same on both of them. I am currently wearing them above my baby bump, and they both grace the tops of my feet, I love them long and they don't get in my way. I know after baby comes I'm going to have to hem them.

Thank you for your thoughts, Lisa. I've been mulling over these skirts and your posts have been very helpful. I definitely need a low-maintanance skirt right now. By the way, what color is the skirt from modest world?

Suzanne, do you need to iron the courderoy skirt as well? Or just the cotton twill ones?

Can I tell you that that big tie-bow thing is annoying.

I was wearing the skirt the other day and the bow was in the back. Just what I need, my backside to look bigger.

I couldn't stand it and turned the skirt with the bow in the front. Oh, yeah, that looked like I was about 14 months pregnant.

I really really like the skirt but that bow tie thing is really annoying. I wish it could be removed or something?

Anyway, just a heads up if you are purchasing. The skirt is WONDERFUL if it weren't for the big bow.

Alice, the skirt from Modest World has a much smaller tie, so it makes a much more petite bow. I don't like it at my back, so I tie it at the side, it doesn't add much bulk at all that way. Yes, the Tznius skirt has a really big bulky tie, and I really don't like it, I echo, if it wasn't for that tie, the skirt would be perfect.

I don't tie it in a bow. I do a double knot, which is less bulky. But, if you were having to "undo" it throughout the day, this would not be a good option.

Corduroy - no, but I try to remove it from the dryer as soon as it's done or hang-to-dry. not always possible, and it gets a BIT wrinkly, but not enough to bother me. mine is black, so black would hide the wrinkles bettter than the other colors, probably.

My denim one really only needs ironing at the very bottom seam, where it turns up a little. BUT, only if I hang-to-dry or remove it right away. Friends who have the other colors (besides denim) say they definetely need to iron theirs, like Lisa said.

Molly- I'm 5'11" and I just got my Tznius skirt yesterday and it comes a little above my ankles. I haven't washed it so I don't know how much it will shrink. Hope that helps.

nak...
ok, so any modest wear out there for 6' and size 18 - 20? the only things I have that fit me right and look nice are those that I have made. And they are all wearing out and I have no place to sew right now. :(
