I can totally relate. My hubby was gone for 18 mo., deployed w/the Army. He missed the birth of our daughter. I think the first couple months were the hardest of all. But, you finally have to learn to not sweat the small stuff. If the house is a little messy, it's okay, just have fun w/the kids! I found that exercise and prayer helped A LOT! If I don't exercise first thing every morning I'm a wreck! It just makes you ready for the day, no matter what the situation is. I definitely think the long walks are great for you and the kids.  Hang in there, it won't last forever!
In the meantime, you all are in my prayers!

Thank you, Tina.
He was broken down in St. George, Utah for 5 days! He just left last night and made it to Henderson, Nevada.
But guess what?
It was a fuel injection problem and rather than replace all 6 fuel injectors (i really don't know exactly what I'm talking about- just repeating what dh said) - the shop replaced 1 and now he's not sure if he'll make it home!
Are you in SLC, Tina???

Thanks for not throwing tomotoes at me, Angela!  Your dh was gone 18 months and missed your dd's birth....and mine's been gone 3 weeks!!!!

Maria, I've been praying...sorry for not posting. I've been going to sleep each night praying 9 Memorares for the intentions on the board. You've been in so many of my thoughts....now I can't do laundry without thinking of you!

Praying, Maria. I'm with you...trying to figure out how to hang tough when my dh isn't home. You would think I would be good at this already  . If only we didn't love and need our dhs so much...

Well.......I have an idea that just might help Maria. I think she should come visit me and let her kids run around like crazy while I sip tea and she sips coffee
Please pray her dh gets home before Saturday........their wedding anniversary  ....hope you will not be mad at me for mentioning that.......you birthday queen, you
And then, on Saturday, if all goes well..........Maria and her FOUR AWESOME, LIVELY DARLINGS (that they are! ) will trek up I-5 for a four night visit with me and my 6 darlings .....please pray she leaves feeling refreshed.......and for her safety in traveling.
I know we will have fun.......beacuse Maria is very fun  .
I should warn you, Maria, Anne will be looking for some voice help over the weekend

Praying he makes it home soon, Maria! My husband has been gone for over 2 weeks and will hopefully make it home Saturday - I can't wait! My unfolded laundry keeps getting shoved off my bed into a basket every night

Praying for you Maria. I so admire you and all the others who go for days/weeks/months without your husbands - I am so blessed to have mine home for dinner every night and helping out with the kids and house.

Just seeing your prayer need--you have my prayers--I am such a wimp--having had dh home for 2 weeks since our baby was born--he went to work today and it was all I could do to not cry like a baby when he walked out the door! Many hugs and love to you!!

Thanks, everyone, so very much for your prayers!
Steve got home late Thursday night and will be here at least through tomorrow....
Today, is our 11th anniversary.
So, since Steve is here I won't be going to visit Chari just yet but affords her time to get her home Maria's family proofed!
