I use a CD. The alarm is set to the CD player. I pray the first five and then get up and turn it off so that it stays where I was. The decade with the kids is extra (I don't try to fit it to where I am, if that makes sense.) When I go back to my room for an after lunch nursing, I pick up where I left off. And then I do the same thing maybe for one more nursing during the day and always at night before bed. If I fall asleep listening and praying, that's okay because the rosary CD plays itself out and just starts over in the morning. Then, I take the other CD from the set and it goes with me in the car, if I'm out that day or into the kitchen or sometimes with the kids. I switch the "room" CD and the "going" CD every couple of days for balance. It's not perfect, but it's what it is.
When I had the memory bracelet, I kept track that way.

Michele,
I wanted to add that my girls have asked to listen to the rosary CD as they go to sleep, too. So, now we have two sets. It's "background noise" at naptime and at bedtime, that way and everyone benefits from the incantation of the prayers and the Gregorian chant in the background. There is something very peaceful about being surrounded by Our Lady's roses, even in the midst of big family busy-ness.

Seven years ago, as my infant son lay dying in the NICU, we starting praying a family rosary. Now we think of it as Joseph's gift to our family and pray it every evening after dinner.
I am also able to get at least 5 decades of the rosary in while driving. Ten fingers on the wheel make natural counters. Turns running errands into something good.

I'm REALLY bad at saying the rosary every day, but this thread is making me so motivated to do better! When it was warmer I used to be good about going for a walk with the baby in the stroller 5ish times a week and I would bring my rosary bracelet and say the rosary while I was walking. That works well, IF I actually walk. But, now that it is cold out . . . well, let's just say I like to be warm and so the walk and the rosary haven't be doing so well.
I think I'm gonna give it a go today and try to get back in the habit! I know I'm missing that "Mother time" in my days. thanks for all the thoughts and ideas!
These boards are so awesome and inspiring!

I finally prayed that Jesus would wake me up early enough and give me the desire to actually rise out of the bed. |

I definitely would most need that desire to actually rise as well . Praying here for that now!

This is such a great idea - it would be very good for me.

I love the Rosary bracelet idea.
I thought it a beautiful gift as my 7 year old dd is receiving FHC this year. |

I will be giving one of these to our goddaughter who will be making her FHC this spring as well.
We have a local artisan who comes to our homeschool conference and makes beautiful ones. And I know Mrs. K from this forum sells them. Then I found Handmaid for the Lord. Any other good sources especially smaller ones for little girls?

Heather, I so glad that we are not the only ones that manage only a decade.
I'm thinking with all the graces we are receiving with only 1 decade how much more with 5 decades!

You're in good company, Ladies. A priest recently told me that our Holy Father says he never says a complete rosary in one sitting, but decades throughout the day (I really hope I'm not misquoting this!!!! ) I've done it a few times this way, and its so nice to be praying throughout the day, but most days, I'm lucky to just say a Hail Mary every time I wash my hands. (I taught the kids to do that so that they lather up long enough. )

I committed to praying at least a decade a day through Lent, and I'm finding that the deeper into Lent we go, I'm making 2 or 3 decades more often. Good times to do it for me are: lying down with and/or rocking my son at naptime, in the shower, during naptime, and right before bed.
