Dear Katherine - I am praying for you and your baby. We have a candle lit for you on our prayer table. My twins (preemies born at 31 weeks) are saying special prayers right now.
(I took medication from 19 weeks to 31 weeks with that pregnancy - and it saved them - they had very few complications)
Hugs

Katherine, I have been praying, and will increase my prayers. Is your new Mac a laptop so you can type in bed?

Thank you all for your continued prayers.
I started taking medication yesterday in the evening and was supposed to call my doctor if the contractions didn't settle down within an hour. I waited almost 3 and called my doctor back. She sent me back to the hospital and I was monitored and given the injection form of the medication. Unfortunately, my cervix had begun to dilate (which was a difference within 24 hours of being checked in my doctor's office). My doctor sent me home and put me on strict bed rest. I am going to have to continue to take the medication every 4 hours and possibly come in daily for the injections. If the medication doesn't start working better as it develops in my blood stream, my doctor said she'd give me steroid injections to help the baby's lungs develop. And if this isn't resolved by 36 weeks, I'll be allowed to go into labor. Thankfully we have babies over 9 pounds (full-term), so hopefully this little boy will be a decent size by 36 weeks.
Thanks for your continued prayers. No, Jenn, my computer is a desktop, so I'll be pretty limited. But I'll be thinking about all of you and praying for you as well.

Katherine, praying for you and babe!
Try to stay peaceful, if possible, and pray to Padre Pio (I credit him with helping to save my son's life in our preemie nightmare--he's powerful).

I'll try and keep everyone updated as I'm able...my little guy is pretty placid and happy right now so I will try and let you all know if anything changes with our dear Katherine and her sweet little boy.

I just realized that I have a wireless mouse and keyboard and that I can scoot the monitor close to the edge of the desk. Maybe I won't go insane from boredom after all. Of course, I'll have absolutely nothing to blog about as I sit here doing nothing, but at least I can read about all the exciting things you guys are doing.

Katherine -
Continuing to pray. I don't know ... time in bed ... don't you have some books you'd just love to read?
Is someone (meaning an adult someone) able to be there with you or are your children being cared for somewhere else? I will pray that all of the logistical aspects of this time work out well.
Peace,
Nancy

Yes, I've already finished one book this week and am half way through my 2nd.
My husband has been working from home this week and next week my mom is going to stay with me. So far we've been alright logistically speaking. God is good.

Prayers from NM!
Bedrest is really tough and I didn't have any littles when I had to endure it. I can't imagine having to do it with the children, the house would be in chaos! I am so glad you have help.
Blessings,
Krisann

Actually, it ended up that I have no help this week.
Doug went to Sam's Club and stocked up on paper goods and lots of easy things for the kids to eat and cut up a ton of veggies and stuff and has the frig in order. Jennifer contacted our homeschool group and we have meals coming for most of the week. But I haven't been able to stay off my feet as much with no other adult here. The kids are being so good, but I do have a 3 year old who is only happy so long with her siblings. I have a little more cramping in my back and uterine tightness today. Hopefully Doug can come home early and I can sleep.
Thanks for your prayers. Keep `em comin'!

Dear Katherine - I had 12 weeks of bedrest with an almost 3 years old (a few years ago) - I arranged my room so that I had lots of games and books and toys around and she would play with me and we would read a lot.(this would not have worked with my almost 3 year old ds - he is too fully of energy and jumping on me etc!!)
I found the whole bedrest thing so tough as I am always busy and active. But now I look back a little wistfully to all the reading I got done - and listening to good music and books on cd. (I was really into Italian opera then - and my twins were born opera buffs!!!)
I did have the Betamethasone (steroid shots) - and my guys who were born at 31 weeks did not have any lung problems. The drugs I had were terbutalin and mag (when it was really bad at 21 and 24 weeks) and then I was on something called procardia for about 8 weeks.
I am praying for you. Keep drinking lots and lots of water. (my then ob actually told me to have red wine then to slow down the contractions )
Blessings

I'm on Terbutaline. Last week when I was in Labor & Delivery the nurse told me that Mag was terrible! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But thank God everything was OK.
Wine? Hmmm...
