Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dh thought maybe a deep ear or sinus infection could be a factor. Maybe he has an ear infection but doesn't feel it?

I don't know. I think I would try to figure out a way to get a second opinion.

My dh had a cold a few years ago while traveling (by plane) and put off seeing a doctor for fullness in his ears, loss of hearing, etc. When he *finally* went to the doctor, it took forever for the fluid to drain, and it left him with tinnitis (constant ringing in the ear). This has been 3 years ago now, and the ringing is still there.

I just don't think it's wise to mess with hearing
.

Dear Jenn

Thanks for the update. It is quite possible I think that the ear problem could be caused by the swollen nasal passages - I have had a similar problem - and Flonase should help. The only thing is that I had ear fulness and discomfort - but not total hearing loss. Sinus infections and allergies can cause real ear problems.

The good thing about going to an ent/ota is that their hearing test is very detailed - they test all different frequencies etc - and they can figure out if there is an inner ear problem.

It is a relief too that your husband is not having balance problems related to the hearing loss.

I shall be praying all weekend.

Jenn, we'll continue to pray.

I was looking around a bit, don't know if this helps:

Just a follow-up -- the Flonase did the trick. His hearing all came back in a matter of days, and no other symptoms.

So odd for him, no sickness or allergies that he knew of...I'm the one with the chronic rhinitis!

I was thinking about you today and wondering how your dh was feeling. I'm happy to hear this.

Glad to hear dh is better.

My dh asks did he hear us all screaming yesterday when the Bears won their game?
