These posts are so very beautiful!!!
Bridget, since you are the one who started it all with your "begging"  , I will say to you: you'd better believe you have my prayers!
Often when I am praying I will simply offer up "all of the intentions held by the Real Learning ladies." But now I will pray for you by name, Bridget, along with the other beautiful women on this thread (Janet, Ruth, Jen, Cheryl, KC, Brenda, Chari, Stephanie, Willa, Martha, and Hollee). If I am forgetting anyone, I'm sorry. Our Blessed Mother will pick up the slack!
And of course, please add my own humble prayer for another infant to this list.
Our openness to Life is a such a witness to the love of God!
However.
Until (and if) we are blessed with a new baby, let us remember daily--hourly, even--to love love love the ones we do have.
We are loving Christ and thanking God in them.

You know how there is one child (at least) who is sooooo persistent? She begs and begs and begs for something.She says just one more will satisfy her. You give in and give her what she wants and no sooner does she have it than she starts to beg again.  I would be that child. Please add me to the list?

Oh, Elizabeth, you are so funny. And bold. I guess the 40s does that to us, huh?
I mentioned this at Bridget's beautiful blog, but I'll say it again here---I am one of the greedy beggars too! I've been begging for 17 and a half yrs---why stop now? Bridget, I love your thought of begging until there is no hope whatsoever and then begging for grandchildren!
It doesn't make any worldly sense, and most of our family does not understand it, but the desire is there all the same. And the best part is that the desire for another baby is as strong (if not stronger) in each of my children. Will someone please inform them that they are being deprived of parental attention?
You are all in my prayers. And I am so blessed to be among you.

I was just thinking about this this morning. My dh's Aunt Millie had 12 children and even today she's known as "Crazy Aunt Millie". So I guess we just have to resign ourselves that it doesn't make any sense from a wordly angle. And we have to resign ourselves to being labeled as "crazy" in the eyes of our family.

Praying for your intentions, ladies! Every child is such a joy and there are never too many. Do I count for being added to the list? I only have one, but it does seem like I have to beg to get any!

Having babies is addictive, isn't it? My husband has a habit of asking, right after a baby is born, "When's the next one coming?" (Give me a little time to recover, dear!) I find that once the baby turns a year, I start longing for another one!

Jane, that is so funny that you mention that. Last weekend, a baby was baptized at Mass, and I told my husband afterwards that it made me so sad that Ashley was getting so big. This morning the two littlest were in bed with us and there was a space between them. My dh looked at the space and said, "Who's missing?" I love him.

Just yesterday we were counting our kids (making sure they all were back in the house) and even though all were accounted for, dh said it feels as if one is missing...we're ready to start counting to 7! Thank you so much for including us in your prayers!
