Jenn - I'm rather attached too. I really don't care for electric music, but as you say, practicality wins out in this family.

Annie - No! I don't have a St. Joseph statue buried - yet. The idea of spending money on a statue just to bury it in the yard is so counter to everything in my practical body.    Dh may get one when he gets home from the east coast though!

St Joseph is even gentle and loving with those who call on him, even when others are doing it on their behalf!   When selling my aunt's house (she had the St Joseph statue) - my mum was doing alot of praying to St Joseph as she planted the statue for her and my aunt said to her impatiently this day - "Well St Joseph will have to give me a contract tomorrow!" (she was having an open house that day) and mum assured her that he would do just that, the next day when the agent came for the open house she said, "Don't leave yet, I actually have brought something with me - a contract!"

Here is our favorite Saint Joseph prayer....we pray it daily as an ongoing novena. He does great things for us!

St. Joseph Prayer

This prayer is a very old and beautiful invocation to St. Joseph. It is said to have been found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505 it was sent from the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. St. Joseph was invoked for protection against a sudden death, drowning, poisoning; for protection against falling into the hands of the enemy, being burned in a fire or overpowered in battle. This prayer can be said for nine days as a novena prayer.

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your Heavenly power I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen

O Blessed St. Joseph, faithful guardian and protector of virgins, to whom God entrusted Jesus and Mary, I implore you by the love which did bear them, to preserve me from every defilement of soul and body, that I may always serve them in holiness and purity of love. Amen

O St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ and true spouse of the Virgin Mary pray for us and for those who will die this day (or night).
