Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Oh, it's great. I don't think I've seen tablecloths like that. Hints for stores would be helpful!

You don't need to find tablecloths. The fabric to make them is on big rolls at the fabric stores (like JoAnn's for sure) in the home decor section. It's not very expensive per yard and since the rolls are so wide you get alot of material in even a third of a yard.

I love the pattern instructions Michele included - that is pretty much how I made ours - only didn't have to first sew on any batting, because the flannel backing on the plastic already makes the material stiff enough to stand upright when finished.

Now, did I used the word "tacky"? If I did, I'm sorry. Nothing you do is every "tacky" Mary!
And I was just joking as well - no one did say tacky - I was just trying to think of the complete opposite of a fiber snob.

Oh I bet that would be easier! Lame is a bit of a pain to work with. I'm going to have to try your idea Mary.

For those of you who sew here's an idea from my friend Linda Fitzgerald:
quilted dress up crown

I was feeling inspired, and I made a crown similar to this one. It was a bit knacky, because I'm very inexperienced with the sewing machine, but I think the kids will be pleased. I made one tonight, I'll make the other two tomorrow. Of course, they weren't in time for the Epiphany
thanks for the link, Michele!

Well that crown is adorable! We wound up making construction paper ones together - what FUN! They came out so cute... and had the added benefit of clearing someof my draft supplies stash. Apparently flat backed sparkles are essential crown making elements!

I posted a couple of pictures on my blog!

They are cute, Nissa!

After I started this thread, I didn't make any crowns...didn't even pick some up at Burger King. Nevertheless, we did have fun. I did use some of the ideas for treasure chests in this thread, had Frankincense and myrrh candles, used a censor, so there was a lot of senses being utilized. But what I really need for next year are some of the Three Wise men banners that Janette has!

For Heaven's sake, Jenn. Tissue alert!

The description of the kids adoring baby Jesus... I wish you'd got it on film, too.

We had just so much fun! We're going to make it godparent's day every year, I think. Sounds like you had a wonderful, wonderful time despite the crowns being absent!
