Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hmm...my links didn't seem to work. Let me try again.

Narnia Unit

Project Seasons

I can't get the link to work for the Snow Ice Cream but it's simple--take bowls, spoons, milk, vanilla, sugar, sweetend cocoa and freshly fallen snow--mix and eat!

(To see pictures you can go to House of Grace and scroll down to Feasting on Snow.)

Thanks Michelle,
I was hoping you'd repost those. What state park are you going to for the animal tracks?

Now I'm envious. We haven't had snow here (Ohio). The kids miss PA so much. They keep saying, it's not real winter here. We used to pretend we lived in Narnia when we lived where the snow was. Such great ideas here!!! Will have to file all these for when we get some.

Cherry Creek State Park. I'm embarrassed to say I've never been in the park. I guess, I've never wanted to pay to get in when there are so many other SPs and open space around.

You of course are invited to join us! I'm still trying to coordinate the details with Mary M but it looks like it's going to be Wednesday Morning at 10ish. PM me and let me know if you can come!

All the other Denver Real Learners (you know who you are) are invited to join us as well!

You can find instructions for Snow Imprints, Borax Snowflakes, Snow Melt, and a Blizzard in a Bucket (for those who have not been blessed with snow) here on my blog.

I also have instructions for Beaded Clay Snowflakes here.

A winter reading list with a focus on snow and animal tracking is here.

And last but not least, you can see pictures of Mary M and the kids, searching for animal tracks along with pictures of a few tracks we found here.

Blessings!

I'm bumping this up as we are gearing up for a big snow! Now I really do need great snow ideas and books to read!
I'm hoping tomorrow to spend the day cross country skiing with the kiddos. They received ski's from St Nick and it looks like we can finally break them in.   Of course I hope I can handle the work out.....what are you all doing to get ready for the storm!!

The snow hasn't started here yet but we are all ready... the wood boxes are loaded, the sleds are in the starting gate.. and I am ready with my cross country skis . The kids have been having a blast sledding but the hill is showing grass in places We are hoping to wake to a LOT of snow (18 - 24" predicted).
Happy skiing Molly!
