Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

MacBeth, I feel your pain. And considering how early I started "talking" about Christmas, you'd think I'd be ahead of the game ...

The good news is that Christmas always happens no matter what we have gotten done or not gotten done!

I can't help with the rest of it, MacBeth, but my Christmas cards always go out during the 12 Days of Christmas ... no guilt at all! You can call them perfectly timed.

My cards aren't sent, either. An interesting observation... I haven't received nearly as many cards as I did last year! Appears we are not alone, ladies.
Merry Christmas!!! (Especially to the poor postal workers who apparently will be very busy for the next few days)

MacBeth,

If it helps, I've not even bought my cards let alone taken "THE" picture!

And with sick kids, not sure it'll happen soon.

Surviving here in Sacramento....

Tried to take the "picture" last night. I think I took 50 pictures, and not one had 4 kids looking presentable (how do you folks with bigger families do it? Photoshop???).

I hope the kids feel better soon, Maria. Sick at Christmas is not fun.

I am 100% there with all of you. My UPS guy won't deliver because of our dogs. We have to keep them in all day this week so that we can get deliveries. I *think* (read that hope) that I've shopped enough for my immediate family. My mom and dad, poor souls, have waited years for the little things I get them. I have trouble being so far away knowing what they want or need. And I haven't exchanged names with brothers or sisters or their kids for years just because of that reason. I have this *thing* with buying suitable gifts for a person, you know, something they'll use.

We managed to buy for the giving tree at church the last day before it was due to the tree. My kids kept picking names off the tree right 'til the end!

This year, I opted for the shutterfly card that allows nine little pictures in a collage. I still coudln't get *one* where Paddy didn't look dorky...
