Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In My Own Hand is definitely in the running. One of our children's godparents offered the suggestion for "Quill of the Cross," which he took from the Vespers hymnology for the 3rd Sunday of Lent:

"O Christ our God, of Thine own will Thou hast accepted Crucifixion, that all mankind might be restored to life. Taking the quill of the Cross, out of love for Man in the red ink of loyalty with bloody fingers Thou hast signed our absolution."

(He also offered to set up a website for A Living Education Press and help me take care of all the annoying hoop jumping (nothing is ever easy!) that I didn't realize I'm going to have to do to make this project happen. And he also offered to help me set up the PDF format so that I can definitely sell these books in e-file version. YEAH! God always provides.

Katherine, that is truly wonderful! And I like Quill of the Cross, too.

Maybe you'll just have to come up with several series of books -- that way you can use all the good titles!!!!

Oh, yeah, and you can do all this in your spare time....

So far I've got the 4 levels of liturgical year books in the making and I HOPE (maybe, maybe) to have a Lenten book put together of the Stations. Mysteries of the Rosary is a definite at some point. My dh suggested a book on Catholic prayers. When I get the new website up and running and with a separate blog for these books (I'll need a blog for the book info and another place to post pictures of my pregnant belly ) I'll be asking for any suggestions for different types of copywork books.

Ahhh...that's why it looks a little familiar to me! I LOVE that stuff, but, as you said, it doesn't quite mesh with our Roman calendar. Late in coming here, I would absolutely LOVE having an e-book, since I'm terribly impatient and don't like to wait for shipments!

Yes, Paidea's stuff is great. I was writing the footnotes for their A Young Folk's Josephus, but I got very sick and didn't get to finish the project. I was so disappointed.

As far as the Orthodox copywork, there are many great pages for the pre-schism saints, but there are obviously 1,000 years worth of saints missing. Plus, most Catholic homeschoolers are interested in copying the Troparion or Kontakion of the daily liturgy.

I am so excited about this!

What's your best "guestimate" as to when you will have something for sale? I've got a little guy here (#4) who is starting to read and is ready for some beginner copywork books...

Well, #5 will more than likely be born around March 19, give or take a week. I would love to have all of the writing and formatting done by then so that once he is here I can just maintain the orders. (Since I'll be in survival mode for a while after that.) I think it's probably a realistic goal. I've finally come up with a format that I'm happy with, so now it's a matter of plugging the material into the format and then processing them into the 3 different handwriting styles. Sometime in January I'll post the new samples on my blog and hopefully I'll have the website up and going pretty soon too. Believe me, I'm taking full advantage of my horrible bout of insomnia this pregnancy!

So, I'm not the only one awake at 1:00 am on a regular basis? I'm amazed at how much stuff I get done at that time of the night... morning... whatever...

Seriously, you are going to be blessing a lot of families with this, so thank you so much for all of your hard work!

Thanks Paula and Ouiz. And don't worry, Paula. I won't push it. I know that the wonderful people who want to use these books are first an foremost concerned with the well-being of a baby. That makes it all the more worthwhile to do it. And I have to say that this is one of the most spiritually beneficial projects I've ever undertaken. I am now constantly reading the writings of the saints, searching for the perfect quote. I've found so much that has really touched me. How can I complain about spending my spare time with the saints?

Here's a beautiful quote I found from St. Angela Merici,

"Mothers of children, even if they have a thousand, carry each and every one fixed in their hearts, and because of the strength of their love they do not forget any of them. In fact, it seems that the more children they have the more their love and care for each one is increased."

What a wonderful quote! I'm glad you are getting such a spiritual benefit from this project.
