Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My girls have taken responsibility for our manger's Baby Jesus.
They have figured out some sort of rotation and unlike me, they never loose him.
Sometimes one will find it before Christmas so the hiding occurs again.
They do hve a good time with the preparation.

Praying for you, Elizabeth!

I have the same problems, maybe worse ........they say it is age.............so, you have the 40 thing going PLUS postpartum........definitely a difficult combo

Did you ever find the money?

I've kept Baby Jesus in the same hiding spot for 13 yrs.........in a box right under my bed.........though I sometimes forget that

Praying, Elizabeth. I'm losing my mind, too. So many things I can't find right now.

Oh no. We'll keep on praying, hopefully you'll find it soon. It's still 10 days to Christmas.

Oh, that's frustrating! I had peeked in yesterday and was really hoping for good news for you. We'll keep praying!

Still haven't found it...

And now I'm adding one brand new pink pearl earring given to Mary Beth by her godmother and lost somewhere bewteen Midnight Mass and Christmas morning and a gift certificate for a dinner date given to Mike and me by our kids (read: Michael). I can't put the trash out 'til we find that one.

We need St. Anthony prayers, too...dh has lost one of his security badges from work (hopefully he left it in his desk at his other office).

There are a few other missing items...but things were so hectic here this weekend that I've actually forgotten which things are lost!

Praying Elizabeth and Nancy. I am so sorry that is continuing to torment you, Elizabeth - not just the money part of it but the "losing mind" aspect of it - it just drives me carzy, too. I recently tore my desks apart looking for a missing gift certificate - never found it but did find another item that I had been missing/looking for, for over a year!

Found the gift certificate !Michael had taken it and put it on top of the refrigerator so "it wouldn't get lost." Unfortunately, Michael was having brunch at the country club in Florida while I was home digging through ALL the Christmas trash. Wish he'd told me sooner how proactive he was being...

Still can't find the cash or the earring but we found my camera and the top to Nicky's Spy Gear pen...

I think this "losing" is a function of several things: sleep deprivation, too much to do, too many people putting things away (or worse, shoving things out of the way), and TOO MUCH STUFF!

That's funny yours is missing too. The last I saw my cell phone over a month ago my 15 mo old had it and threw it down the stairs. I was too sick to care. It was never seen again.

I just feel bad we're paying the monthly. I need to cancel. . .if I can.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack!

What about under couch cushions for the earring? Under the couches? Just a thought. . .

Paddy noticed that the earring was falling out at Mass. She had lost the back. So I asked him to take it out of her ear (she was asleep) and slip it into the interior pocket of the diaper bag. He did. I watched him do it. The next morning, when she went to get it, it was gone. I checked the car...

Elizabeth, I can so relate to your worries, I seem to roll from one lost thing to another...with such a complete blank mind that is frightening.

I hope you can find everything in time with St Anthony's help.
