I am interested in this topic. Years ago, I bought a floor steam cleaner for hard floors, not carpet. Before purchasing, I asked the Sears salesman how well it worked. He gave me a vague, "you'll see." It didn't sound positive, but wasn't outright negative. I ended up returning it, as it didn't seem to do a thing to my floors. I wish the guy would have told me it didn't work or whatever his real opinion was and suggested a different product rather than allow me to purchase something that just didn't work.

I think I may look into one of these things though!
