Cindy is really doing well. She looks great and was in pretty good spirits. She's eager to get to Colin but understands the gravity of the blood pressure situation. Colin was on the respirator all day but Cindy called around 8 to say that they'd taken the tube out and he was doing okay without. So we'll see how the night goes. They'll start trying to get her up around noon tomorrow. Around that time, they will also be able to begin to assess the extent of any withdrawal symptoms in Colin. The breathing issus was due to prematurity. What the Vicodin has caused remains to be seen. I'll keep you posted. Keep praying!

Thanks, Elizabeth...I just finished my Rosary, including them in my intentions. I hope you don't think I was being condenscending about the medical stuff....I was trying to be helpful. I just remember many times in L&D, postpartum BP issues were something to keep a handle on. (I know, everyone is going, "like we know that rookie!!) It sounds like the situation is better, what great news he is off of the vent! Good boy, Colin!!
We'll keep praying, after my last ds was in NICU for almost a month, I know this is so stressful.
Placing them all in the Heart of the Immaculate,
4 Lads' Mom

Welcome Colin!!! I just saw this -- we were out all day celebrating another Dec 2nd birthday -- my Gracie is 9 today! Glad to hear that things are improving. Cindy, you and Colin are in my prayers.

Oh my no! I found your information very informative and thoughtful. After reading your post, I was reminded that when a mom and baby are suffering, we need to remember that all involved want what is best for them. It is sometimes just hard to figure out what "the best" is. I'm so very grateful for all the love and expertise that is surrounding this precious family.
Our prayers continue!
Love,

I did too.
We appreciate all our moms and their offerings here...most of whom have lots of real-life educated, wise advice to offer.

Congratulations, Cindy!
Special prayers going up. When Aaron was born, he was immediately life flighted to a medical center and hour away and I had to stay behind due to having a C-Section. I wasn't able to see him or touch him for 3 days. I understand the longing to be with your little guy .

Aidan had to be on methadone because of the amount of morphine he was on after his transplant at age 4 months. The weaning process went well.
Also, Cindy, I offered my Mass for you and little Colin yesterday. Several of my babies have had to hang out in the NICU for varying lengths of time so I can relate to the difficulty of being separated; Dads are a great mainstay. Hang in there; the babies seem to be able to survive the temporary separation. Someone told me to ask Our Blessed Mother to cradle the infant for me when I couldn't be there, and I believe it worked so well!
