Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Taffy,
I just saw your prayer request and will hold your dh and your entire family in my prayers.

Here is verse from St. Paul that has helped me in our struggles.

The unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife. 1 Corinthians 7:14

Here is a prayer to St. Monica I pray every morning:

Novena Prayer to St Monica

Dear St Monica, troubled wife and mother, many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime. Yet you never despaired or lost faith. With confidence, persistence and profound faith, you prayed daily for the conversion of your belvoed husband, Patricius and your beloved son, Augustine.

Grant me that same fortitude, patience and trust in the Lord.   Intercede for me, dear St Monica, that God may favourably hear my plea for (mention your petition here) and grant me the grace to accept his will in all things, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.   Amen.

You'll be in my prayers.

God bless you. Ruth

Thanks, everyone, for the prayers! They've been helpful!

These past few weeks, my husband has been making comments that show that he's becoming stronger in his faith than ever! Several times he's commented about the increased secularization of Christmas and how people need to remember that the reason for the season is "the birth of our Lord and Saviour", for example.

He'll never be a "churchy" type of person (not sure how else to say it - he's not big on joining groups of any sort). But, I have no doubts of his faith anymore.

Thank you so much!

Oh, Taffy, I'm so happy for your peace! I sometimes think that spouses (especially extraverts) will verbally vent in the safety of marriage...some of us venters can really let it all hang out! There is an inclination to panic when we here such strong language. Yet often the best path is that of calm and reassurance - not easy at all! It is awesome that your dh feels safe to share with you his questions and thoughts. Your faith in and love for God and your dh must be shining very brightly . Merry Christmas!

Love,
